[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] However, if he doesn't call with a weaker king then why would he call an all-in with K9 as you suggest? [/ QUOTE ] dude situation 1: Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($46, 2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $40, UTG raises to $80, Hero raises to $240 (basically a push) situation 2: Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($46, 2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $40, UTG raises to $80, Hero calls $40. Turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($206, 2 players) UTG bets $100, Hero pushes for $100 more which one do u think K9 sticks his stack in?? [/ QUOTE ] FWIW it is obviously more likely villain sticks it in in hand 2, although limp calling with 75BB behind with K9(assuming that's what he has) he will go to the felt no matter what IMO. |

I am as reticent on the issue of how much to raise as the calling faction are on what to do next. If you intend calling off your entire stack (remember I advocated folding) no matter what comes I'd suggest going all-in now.
If worse hands will continue to bluff till the river they are just as likely to call your all-in; if better hands are ever going to fold this is the best opportunity to force their decision. |

[/ QUOTE ] Do you really believe that someone who is bluffing with air, or taking a stab with something like a mid PP, is going to call your all in with as much frequency as they'll fire again on the turn? I do agree that this is probably the only time you're going to fold out anything that beats you, but the only better hands I could POSSIBLY see you folding out are a very wierdly played AK and KQ (not better but you get the point). And even those would be pretty rare... Also, people have said to call flop and push turn since page 1, but you still haven't given a good amount to raise. vvvv-----I guess we are going in circles, I'm done. |

Nobody's respectin' mah poll nagdamnit.
Triumph I hold you in special contempt for this phrase of complete idiocy, "It doesn't hold any more weight than one person's opinion because min-raises mean a ton of different things with a lot of different players in a lot of different situations." Everyone realises that a certain bet might mean different things to different people. If two people think it means a certain thing then perhaps this viewpoint holds more weight than just one, if ten more than two, if twenty even more and so on... It's a good thing for you that you don't play poker at the same time as I do, otherwise I'd be sitting here with all your money. |

LOL - I'd just sit to your right, call every raise, and check-min-raise every flop.
Maybe you can make a poll about whether you'd call one of those raises with the second nuts after the fifth time I do it. |

[ QUOTE ] why bet so big on the flop? [/ QUOTE ] nobody ever folds anyways, and I get raised less when I bet bigger. [/ QUOTE ] do you see how this is a reason to bet less? |
