Wouldn't Schilling haters have had more fun ribbing him for missing a perfect game due to an error?

In a sense Schilling did miss a perfect game because of the error. If Lugo doesn't make that error, Schilling never faces that last batter.

And I was sitting around my house doing absolutely nothing at the time. Had PTI in the background, when they broke in with "special coverage" of the 9th inning live.

The "Special Coverage" graphic was covering the NESN score-bar across the top, so I couldn't see the score. "Is that a 1?"

I flip over to the game, and yup, that's a 1.

"F the no-hitter, just hang on and win this game!" Only in a 1-0 game do you see no-no's broken up by solo shots.

First two batters ground to Lugo, who handles each as if they were live grenades. Crumble much? I didn't know at the time, he had the costly error earlier, no wonder his collar was so tight. I was reminded of Adam Sandler's "Please, God, don't let him hit to me" routine. I'm not looking forward to his "A-Rod With A Glove" impression this October.
