He should start Theo. Newcastle isn't very good, so it would be a good opportunity for him. Although, it could be a good chance for Freddy to use to the game.

Any big games this weekend?

Been a while since I updated any of this.

Five most valuable players offensively by my metrics: Didier Drogba (7.5331), Tim Cahill (5.8261), Frank Lampard (5.4613), Louis Saha (5.1317), Ryan Giggs (4.9101). Numbers in parentheses are number of goals and assists above league average for the position.

Five worst players are Darius Henderson (-2.8255), Tommy Smith (-2.4300), Jordan Stewart (-2.1896) - ouch, Watford - Robbie Keane (-1.5690), and Juan Pablo Angel (-1.5524).

League leaders in random stats:

Shots-
C. Ronaldo, 69
T. Henry, 60
F. Lampart, 52
L. Saha, 36
D. Kuyt, 32

Shots on Goal-
T. Henry, 28
C. Ronaldo, 26
L. Saha, 22
F. Lampard, 21
N. Kanu, 18

Offside-
B. McCarthy, 21
B. Mwaruwari, 17
B. Corradi, 16
5 with 15

Goals-
D. Drogba, 8
N. Kanu, 7
D. Bent, 6
F. Lampard, 6
A. Johnson, 6

Assists-
C. Fabregas, 5
L. Saha, 4
R. Giggs, 4
S. Davis, 4
K. Kilbane, 4

Top of the adjusted league table looks like this:

1 Manchester United, 30.85 points
2 Chelsea, 26.08
3 Arsenal, 23.38
4 Portsmouth, 20.83
5 Aston Villa, 20.16
6 Everton 19.55

Bottom:

15 West Ham, 12.53
16 Manchester City, 11.90
17 Newcastle, 11.90
18 Watford, 11.26
19 Sheffield United, 10.63
20 Charlton, 10.63

Any stat requests?

How does your adjusted league table work? I think I'm trying something similar with Spain.

The goals/assists above average for Ballack and Shevchenko?

There was an article on Soccernet contrasting the start of each of their premiership careers and I was wondering what the numbers say: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns...nd&cc=5901

Andriy Shevchenko: 3 goals, 1 assist, 790 minutes, 1.19 OARP (offense above replacement player, 'offense' being simply goals+assists)
Michael Ballack: 2 goals, 0 assists, 574 minutes. 1.18 OARP.

I'll hopefully update the website tonight sometime that has the full spreadsheet.

Yeah, Cahill has been huge. He was #1 for most of the year, and Andrew Johnson was up there for a while too. It's really no surprise to see Everton doing as well as they have.
