PocketQueens,
Getting to game 7 is the chore though and my worry isn't game 5 but going back to that loud ass yellow arena. |

kinda makes you think that Dallas shouldn't have rested their starters against GS at the end of the season.. Clippers are looking much better right about now.. yes, in hindsight it's always easy [/ QUOTE ] Good point - maybe Avery Johnson isn't as bright as he appears. Interestingly enough, on that very same night, the Clippers played the Suns, and the Suns played very close to full strength that evening. Clippers won that game, but it wasn't because of the Suns' lack of effort. Dallas, on the other hand, was playing four bench players and their short order cook against GS. Seems like one team missed the forest for the trees. Watching Baron Davis last night, I have to wonder what this guy would be like if he didn't only played a total 95 games in the prior three seasons before 06 - 07. He's just man handling Dallas' back court. Dallas looked like a college team in the final quarter of game four. |

[ QUOTE ] guys, forget the regular season. just look at the series in a vacuum. which team would you bet on for a ONE game series? without being too much of a homer, id pick the warriors. I'd rate the mavs as having not even a 10% shot to win this series. (.45 x .45 x .45) btw, i dont get ppl saying the gsw will use a 6 man rotation.. they've been using an 8 man rotation, harrington logged 13 mins and montay 22. [/ QUOTE ] 10% is way too low. Dallas not only has way more experience but they are also a much better team. They'll figure it out and someone will probably step up. I don't think GS can finish the mavs off at home where they lost 5 games all season. Plus facing elimination which becomes an advantage for the Mavs. You can't say GS has an equal chance to win each game either. 45 is way too low for the first game. Game 6 will be the toughest and 45 may be accurate here. In a game 7, I don't think the Warriors have a chance. I agree with whoever it was that said 95%. Its a completely different game when the stakes get that high and I don't think the Warrios can handle it [/ QUOTE ] O-Like, the Mavericks, especially Dirk, can handle it. ROFLMAO. |

I'll also take the Warriors at 20 to 1 if they get to a game 7. That seems kinda insane.

capone,
Right now they can't handle their pricks in the shower but you do realize if they win game 5 facing elimination, game 6 on the road facing elimination that they will be a much different team as far as "being able to handle it" goes. One of my favorite Steve Nash quotes ever is- "When you win a game in the playoffs you feel like you will never lose another game and when you lose a game in the playoffs you feel like you will never win another game." Basically it is all about momentum and getting it back, but yea you're right they have nothing going for them right now--but if it gets to game 7 they will have a lot going for them. |

[/ QUOTE ] That was my first thought (as a Clipper fan) - but honestly I don't think (and this was Avery's thinking I'm sure) that the best team in the league should have to worry about which .500 team they get in the 1st round (even if this .500 team has dominated them). The better team usually wins a best-of-7... In hindsight looks like a terrible decision, but at the time it's easy to understand Mavs perspective. -Al |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm talking about last year in the playoffs. I'm talking about years before in the playoffs. Dirk doesn't have "it" and never has had "it." Maybe he will eventually get "it." For an MVP candidate he should have "it." Honestly, if they pull it out and win in 7, it'll be impressive but it still doesn't make up for the Finals last year when they should have easily been up 3-0 and quickly closed out the series. GS might not have "it" but they shouldn't. Most of the team hasn't been to the playoffs and they definitely haven't been their together. Right now they have more "it" than Dirk and Dallas have. The only "it" I saw from Dirk was maybe the last minute of the game, but it was way too late. As an annoucer said, he was 4/4 or 5/5 from inside last night and 4 or 5 for 15 elsewhere and thats including the 2 late game shots. Hey "Dink" you moron, go inside against the small guys. |
