He has to demonstrate possession, I guess. He got hit as he caught it, if it got knocked loose=safe.

thats so sick. in my head i was thinking "I just cannot see the A's hitting a walk off here it would be out of nowhere" as the previous 2 innings were a lot more tense than the last for the A's.

Like I said, we had no business winning this game, with the travel, the bounce factor (emotional letdown after Yankees series), and all the starters that were on the bench.
Just the fact that we made a game of it is good enough for me.
