Nah, tall guys don't think about your height at all. The problem is that short guys sometimes think everyone is so busy thinking about their height when really they just don't care. It's a self-created, self-defeating thing.
This is probably even more the case if you grew up where a lot of people were short, say in Asia, or where there were lots of Latino immigrants. Some Latinos with a lot of Indian in them are incredibly short, like under 5 feet tall. Being 5'6" is pretty unremarkable in L.A. if you're around many Latinos or Asians. There are plenty of Asians, and Latinos are everywhere. The real downside to being short is not how other guys regard you -- we're too busy thinking about ourselves, like all guys, to think about you at all. It's that women often like taller guys. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 18 inch biceps and you can only bench 230 lbs. Sounds like you are full of [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] Since biceps are key in benching? [/ QUOTE ] think about it some more kid [/ QUOTE ] Triceps make up a big portion of that 18 inches and is involved alot in bench..... One of those statements is a lie. With 18 inch arms you should be able to close grip bench 230. |

I'm six two, I'd rather shrink a couple inches downstairs than lose 10 inches in height.
Being tall is awesome. 5 foot 5? I'd feel like I was a damn munchkin. |

[ QUOTE ]
So many tall guys tend to be very skinny/boney and look unattractive. Otherwise they tend to be fat. Mesomorph body structure seems to be most common on guys with average height. [/ QUOTE ] Yup. A big reason so many movie stars are short. Short people tend to look more "filled out" and proportional. Tall people often look skinny or even gangly. Women do not like that body type at all. They still like height, but tall thin guys are not their "go to" fantasy by a long shot. |

[ QUOTE ]
I don't quite agree that there is a lot of disrespect for short guys. I think they have more problem with women than men by far. I've met a ton of guys with short-man syndrome, angry at tall guys, even verbalizing that specifically. But I never even think about anyone else's height, much less judge them by it. I've heard a lot of tall guys say they've met their share of short guys who were super angry at them from the get go for no reason. I really can't recall it going the other way around. I think it's just the uncomfortable feeling that tall people MIGHT be thinking poorly of short ones that sets some short people off. Some of them just carry it around until they find the right time to explode on somebody. Tall dudes, unless they're really tall, don't really worry whether they're short or tall, because they've already won that lottery and so that's the end of the subject for them. They're not haunted about it, or insecure. To whatever extent it's an issue, being tall resolves it automatically. [/ QUOTE ] I was thinking more in terms of sub-concious effect. A previous post mentioned something like more people in power (CEO's, those getting promotions) are taller on average. Perhaps this is partly a by-product of the short-people being angrier and generally screwing themselves out of a promotion. But I do think that sometimes the tall guy can just garner more respect just by being tall and has that sub-concious advantage going for him. This wasn't even something I even considered until I first heard about it semi-recently. I. personsally, don't have any anger towards tall guys. At least, I don't think I do. I'm so used to being short that I don't even think about it. All my friends in grade-school were a foot taller than me (seriously, I was SUPER short). And thinking of my 5 closest guy friends, 2 of them are around 6-3 or so. I'm not seeking out tall friends or anything. Just guys I get along with best. My image of myself really isn't of me being so short. I always feel like I'm pretty much as tall as most around me (even though I know I'm not). It's hard to explain, but it's like I forget my height entirely most of the time. Standing right next to a 6-3 guy I don't really think about it. Seeing a picture of me next to him and I go, "Wow. I really AM pretty freaking short." |

If a girl didn't have sex with you because she was afraid of your gigantic shlong, would being able to tell that story actually be worth more than the sex? [/ QUOTE ] Clearly, yes. |

being 5'5" would really suck. [/ QUOTE ] I have 2 friends who are about 5'5" and they got more tail then they could handle in college and I never once remember their height being an issue for them. |
