As a player with a lot of tournament background, I'd feel very comfortable playing in a game like this.

I know you haven't called a push yet, but you need to do your best to put him on a range. Hand values fluctuate a lot based on what he is pushing. Against any ace, any pair, JTs is way better than A6o, although both are folds. Against any two cards, JTs and A6o are both similar and both calls.

Anyways, just consult a chart like this, or if you want to play with the range yourself, download a program like this, which you probably already have, or buy SNGPT, which is made for tournaments, but would be able to solve this problem very easily (if you can put the pusher on a range).

Default OT: Better value at 6 max?

Sorry for veering off-topic Samoleus, but I'm curious to know if you're finding better value at the 6-max, considering you did so well at the full ring?

jdp, I think I am a much much better 6-max player than full ring. And my strengths of being able to accuractely determine where I stand when holding very marginal holdings (is my fourth pair good, etc?) is much more applicable in 6-max I think.

Jman, I agree that if I had him accurately on a range, it is relatively simple to determine if I should call or not. The point - and the post - is in fact more about determining his hand range than anything else. Based on his chat and what he had done in the first two orbits, I felt his range was any ace, any pair, any two broadway cards, a decent king, and maybe even a suited connector. If I am correct in that assessment, A-6 is a call I believe. But of course, the main task is determining his hand range after such a small sample.

a6 imo is an easy fold against Donut even with him cranking it up a few notches. Under the conditions you described aj, 88 or better or something close to that...

BLD, I am quite surprised your requirements are as high as they are. When he has pushed four of my seven raises (and you have seen the way he hates me), what is the range of hands you put him on? ... You do agree that I should take any +EV spot right?

Consider of course that I may lose my chance to stack him if someone else does first.

Going back to my memory bank the worst thing I remember him with is aj in one of his preflop all in situations and then he's probably going all in 1 out of ten hands.

Maybe I should lower it a lil bit, but I can't see a6 being a good call at all. A lot of hands you will only be a slight favorite and a lot of hands you'll be more than a 2 to 1 dog.

but he had pushed 4 out of 7 hands that I had raised - swearing at me the whole time. Do you really think that he just happened upon top 15 hands each time? Even though it is a small sample size, I think it is more likely that his standards are weaker.
