Thanks! I had totally forgotten it was from that thread. Anyway, a search for "gang" found what I was talking about:

bk: "I was virtually the only white person who lived in an urban area where white people do not venture (except the cops and an occasional stray junkie) for about 10 years. I moved there as an adult (I was not 'born' there and therefore 'accepted') 2 large gangs operated there, one across the street, and another a few blocks away. I don't know boosted so I'm only guessing, but I think he would be extremely lucky to make it one block in that neighborhood without being robbed and beaten lol. ... Sorry for not being clear. I was not accepted because I was not born there. I earned enough respect and acceptance to be not messed with only AFTER moving there."

Boosted: "Very wrong, I went to one of the top 10 most dangerous, violence, drug, and gang related high schools in Florida for 4 years. I've had multiple friends shot and/or hospitalized. High school was the worst period of my life because of all of that. The area I lived from 5 years old to 17 years old, I was in the 15-20% ethnicity bracket of caucasian. The only thing you could possibly have on me seeing full fledged military war. I've been everywhere else you can go. i saw almost all of rbk's match. I saw adz/chrischun telling other player what to do. obviously adz was not trying to help rbk. try that ish at a real casino and see how many more hands you play at the table, much less stand around and rail.
