What are peoples' thoughts on the toughness of this upcoming tournament? If it was a straight buy-in only then I would think it would be a pretty tough tourney as not many fish are going to pony up a grand to play. But with all of these sat's, my god, the play at my sat table was atrocious - and some of them have to win sat's just by accident. I'm thinking that at least 1/3 of the people shouldn't be in such a big tournament.

First prize is a QUARTER MILLION DOLLARS! The fish tank will be full and there are many more fish than sharks...

Edit: The one solid player in my Sats was selling seats to high limit players who couldn't be bothered to play a sat. I.e. mostly fish. The rest of the Sat players were pretty sad. My guess is that most of the Sat winners are fish, and that every doctor, dentist, lawyer, mortgage broker, and realtor etc. in Scottsdale is going to ante up a grand for their chance to play in a "big buyin tournament" and win it like those amateurs always do on the WPT.

Edit 2: forgot the Realtors and mortgage brokers. Despite the bad market I still see these guys spending money like it's 2005...

If lawyer=fish then I'm in trouble.

I agree with that theory. But I'm not talking about your average fish. I'm talking guppies. My sat table had 3 people who said they had never even played in the Tues/Wed night tourny. And I'm not talking about people from out of town just traveling through and playing some poker. I'm saying blue-hairs that were dropped off by the bus for Poker Night at the Casino. There will always be the I Can Do What They Do On TEEVEE people, but this was above and beyond anything I've ever seen - even on a Tues/Wed night. And some of these people have to win just by accident. I'm telling you, there may be a ton of fish, but I would say at least 10% won't have any clue. And that's kind of nuts for a $1k buy in.

The tourney is almost certain to be sold out w/i a week from now (450 entries and they are running the sats 24/7 almost). It is possible that on the date of the tourney tickets will be selling for a hefty premium. If that becomes true I'll probably sell mine.

[/ QUOTE ]

How much do you think they could sell for? I just found out there's a good chance I won't be able to play the tourney and might have to sell it. I'd rather wait until it sells out....but I'm not really a regular at CAZ so I wouldn't know how to go about selling it.

Howard (not my real name) is a-hoping and a-praying that they go for $1,500 so that he can bail because Nate. (above) has him pegged pretty good as a decent live player who is awful at tourneys.

If you want to sell it just show up every now and then once it sells out (there's plenty of time), go to the high-limit section and ask the floorman to ask the players if anybody wants a ticket. If you want I could try to help you sell it by asking around once it's sold out. PM me when and if and I'll see what I can do.

Heh, almost like the stock market, buy now and sell higher after it's sold out? How many seats can I buy?

I don't believe the casino looks very favorably on profiting from tournament entry sales.
You are allowed one entry AFAIK.

I guess you have played with me before. I'm a tournament fish.

I run at about 1.2 bb/ hour for the last thousand hours playing limit.

I'll bet In my life I have played in 1000 tournaments, mostly online. Maybe cashed 10 times.

I'm going to "Moneymaker" this Arizona State thing though, cause I'm tired of working. lol.

I think some people tried this last year. I heard the floor talking about not letting this happen, but I'm not sure what they can do. I mean it's my seat and some one wants to give me $1500, what's it to them.
