Rachel Ray is not fat. Just because a girl isnt 45 pounds and near death doesnt make her fat.
For some reason, that comment really pissed me off. |

[ QUOTE ] I'd hit it. We already know she can suck a good dick and can hook a steak up. My kinda woman... [/ QUOTE ] I'm confused, how do we know this? The sucking part... [/ QUOTE ] What chunky girl can't? *note to Dids, I don't really think she's fat. She just has some nice curves to her. |

[ QUOTE ] Rachel Ray is not a chef, I don't believe Giada is either. They host TV shows and write cookbooks, but have never worked as professional chefs. [/ QUOTE ] Rachel worked in the kitchen for 10 years before her first cookbook came out. I don't know about Giada but I would imagine she did as well. I can't think of any food network personality that hasn't worked as a chef. [/ QUOTE ] Rachel Ray's experience amounts to working as a girl behind a soda counter, mass cooking food for a gourmet foods supermarket, and catering. She was never the head chef of a kitchen and has never worked in an actual professional restaruant setting. That is just not impressive to me. |

[ QUOTE ]
I have never seen these women's shows or heard their voices. based on pics alone, the top girl is way hotter. She kind of has a jessica alba thing going on [/ QUOTE ] Rachel Ray is not hideously ugly, nor is she "fat", but I can assure you 100% that she most certainly does not have a "Jessica Alba thing going on". The Italian chick with the annoying accent is way, way hotter. (And not just because she's more petite.) |

The point is this.
There's a status that comese with being a "chef" that's pretty meaningful. It speaks to somebody's experience, and their status. Ray and Giada aren't on TV because they've launched/run sucessful establishments. They're there because they look good and maybe wrote a cookbook that sold. When Mario Batali, Ming Tse, Bobby Flay, do something, it carries a little bit more, because you know that they've done this for a living. |

Dids,
When Rachel Ray cooks something, it carries a little bit more because you know she has done a lot of eating. |

Diablo,
Are you feeling ok, you said "Dids" instead of "Dibs". I actually own three of Rachel's cookbooks. I dislike them a lot. Most of her meals make up for their short prep/cook time with an ass load of seasoning that's kinda over the top. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't entirely disagree with you, but here's something from the Library of Congress 2005 National Bookfest Web site: "Giada De Laurentiis grew up in a large Italian family and her passion for food was sparked when she learned as a child to prepare family recipes for their frequent gatherings. She became a professional chef after attending the famed Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Paris. After working in a variety of Los Angeles restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, she started her own business as a private chef and caterer in Los Angeles and is the founder of GDL Foods." I don't know if she ever RAN a restaurant, but she at least appears to have worked in several as a chef. (As for Ray's experience, I don't know and don't care, which ought to tell who I picked in the poll.) |
