1. About 100%. I have no hope of remembering someone's name until I've heard it 4 or 5 times.
2. A couple times a week. 3. About once for every 3-4 hours of TV watching. |

1. about 90% of the time...i've taken to repeating it outloud to try to help..
2. at least once a week. 3. probably 2-3 times a week. i'm glad this thread exists, and that there are lots of people like me...i always assumed my ridiculously bad short-term memory was due to extensive ecstasy use when i was younger... |

Al, Song ID [/ QUOTE ] Diablo - cool service (and free to use!), thanks for the heads up. Well, it will be free once one of my devices (I have Blackjack on Cingular, and SCH-u740 on Verizon) supports this app. But hopefully soon my days of typing in the chorus while I'm driving around will be over... KBZ - this service is available on LG Env right now, so score one for your side. -Al |

The meds I take cause short term memory loss. No joke, I don't remember what I had for breakfast. When I play live, I have to look down at my hole cards several times. Gives me an edge because people always think I check my cards to see if they're suited and thus put me on a flush draw.

how embarrassing is this: You check your watch, someone immediately asks you what time it is, and you have to check again. I do this all the time. [/ QUOTE ] Haha, I used to do that, too. Back in the day when I was still wearing a watch. Try this: As soon as the person asks, do not look again, but cover up your watch with your hand. Try to think about it real hard. The information is in your head, just need to access it. I was kinda surprised that after a few seconds I'd usually remember what time it was. |

I've actually gotten into the habit of never saying another person's name for fear of getting the name wrong. Like the other day, I had lunch with a guy whose name I was 99% sure of. Yet I still never mentioned his name. But it's not just that.
It's also people who I've known for years, who I consider to be really good friends. Not that I don't remember their name. But I will never say, "Hey Greg, how are you doing?" preferring just to say, "Hey, how are you doing?" |
