Playboy Playmates look amazing in real life. They're like ambassadors for the magazine. I met maybe a dozen at the mansion, and even the older ones (40+, maybe 50+) look gorgeous.

The airbrushing in Playboy is not, as people apparently think, to make plain girls hot or something. It's to turn stunning women into flawless archetypes, purposefully unattainable ideals of sexual beauty. I bet there were a-holes* in ancient Greece who complained that the statues of nude figures were "too perfect"; where were the stretch marks, saggy [censored], and crow's feet on Venus?
