Well, I got a response...sounds like they put some thought into this at least, but I'm still not sure why my ratio was so low. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only gold mid-stakes limit player and I haven't seen another offer this low.
[ QUOTE ] Dear X, Thanks for writing in. The figures for the Acceler-8-or VIP promo were set by an examination of past play patterns. Targets were set based on a percentage of some of each playerıs higher play levels in the past several months and the ratio of points to bonus was based on an examination of the ratio of points to rake each player generated during the same period. In our current playersı club format, not all games generate the same points to rake and thus not all players will have the same ratio. The objective is to provide a bonus target that may not be easy to reach, but is lucrative for those who do so. Hopefully you can find a way to make this bonus work for you. Best of luck and please let us know if you have further questions. [/ QUOTE ] |

At some point, Party is going to realize that people feel worse when they miss a bonus than they feel happy when they hit a bonus. The purpose of a promotion should always be to make players happy not just to play more. The warm and furry feeling is what keeps people coming back after Party doesn't have a quisi-monopoly.
Something isn't making sense here. OH, sorry, this is Party Poker, Doh! |

Nah, the bonus is brilliant. But instead of setting the goals "just out of reach" of past volume patterns, causing the player to increase their volume over current levels, they should have just created the incentives to maintain play levels.
PERSONALLY, although I'm annoyed with my offer, which forces 25 hrs/wk on me, deep down inside I'm thankful because I know I will put in more hours than I would have otherwise. I'll make it happen. |

The bonus is smart but it misses one very key fact: the ill will it generates to high volume players who see lower volume, lower stakes players getting better bonuses may not be a smart idea.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, but was it ever established whether or not this promo would affect MGR?

Any cash bonus is deducted.
This is taken from another thread. So, let´s say i make 10.000 in mgr, and my affiliate gets 25 % = 2500 Next month i get 1000 $ in acelerator, the ultimate kill yourself playing poker for bonus. If I generate 10.000, will my affiliate: A) get (10.000 - 1.000) x 25% = 2250 (Left out the other choice since someone said this was correct) |
