It's not a chokejob is the Colts lose. This year's Colts aren't as good as this year's Patriots. Sure the Patriots aren't great, but the Colts are mediocre. This is a team that had a worse point differential than the Jaguars, Chargers, Ravens, Patriots, Saints, Bears, Cowboys and Eagles. They just aren't that good.

[/ QUOTE ]

their defense was horrible all season, with the defense playing the way it has been playing in the playoffs they're far from mediocre (btw, even with a terrible defense they're one of the best teams in the nfl).

In all seriousness, I heard a saying the other day that explains this idiocy: "Players win awards, teams win championships, but championships define players." It's rediculous, but sadly true in the minds of most sports fans.

FWIW, I partly agree with this "idiocy", and I don't think it's sad that most sports fans might think the same thing. Sports are supposed to be fun, not some important affair reserved for the likes of scientists, businessmen, and academics to discuss. Peyton ultimately wants a championship. If he wins one, I'll be happy for him, and glad that his career won't be marred by a lack of a ring. Regardless of how well he played in the super bowl.

Sure games are supposed to be fun, but that doesn't mean that smart people can't look beyond arbitrary distinctions. We created a playoff system, not to crown the best team, but rather to create a tense and exciting atmosphere.

Peyton's career has been amoung the best in NFL history and it's only half over. Whether his ring count is 0 or 8 when he retires he'll still be the same great QB. If he eventually wins a ring, he'll be no different that day, then he was before, yet everyone will suddenly say he's great (or lucky, if you're a fan of the team he beat, or a hater in general).

If the Colts go on to the Super Bowl, Bill Belichick will coach the AFC in the pro bowl.

There are 10 Chargers on the AFC team, including LaDainian Tomlinson.

Already been dealt with by LT "...I just won't talk to him while I'm in Hawaii"

I have all the respect for LT, I see him as a Brady, Manning, Harrison, Holt, etc. level of maturity and respect, but my lord he's being a baby in the way he's handling this.

Man, I was beginning to fear Edge wouldn't show up. Thanks for quelling my fears!

You really like making Patriots fans into terrible people, don't you?

the colts are certainly a better team than the pats, the way each is playing.

LDT is a whiny little bitch. If he really said that then I have very little respect for him.

Not all, but many of the Tom Brady c***-suckers (like Sean Salisbury 99% of the time), just get on my nerves.

I was away for a long time dealing with a family medical emergency (dad had a heart attack new year's eve). I really would like to be more chill, and honestly, I don't have a problem with 99% of Pats fans, I just like having fun poking fun at them. I think I'm a lot less bitter than most PAts fans too, but hey. I love watching football, I love being part of a rivalry with my favorite team. That's how I work these days.

I have all the respect in the world for Belichick (unlike one LaDainian Tomlinson), I just can't stand the love thrown on Brady while people basically say Peyton (and the Colts) aren't that good. Its all in good fun, but I'm not afraid to get in it a bit.
