hk cost too much, esp for a first gun.

9mm are sweet because they are so cheap to shoot. 11$/100 is hard to beat.

Hollowpoint high powered 9mm will stop a person no problem

Glad to see you went with a Glock, it will never let you down.
In the winter I carry a Glock 21(45ACP) loaded w/ 13+1 200gr. +p COR-BON's. The 21 is very large but manageable in a good holster and belt. I personally use a Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. and a very rigid gunbelt.

My summer gun is a Kel-tec P-11, one of the lightest 9mm's made(like 14 oz fully loaded?).

Come and make some new friends at glocktalk.com.

Being new gun owner you can help the gun-rights movement at thehighroad.org, or thefiringline.com

I cant say enough good things about having a cop as a roommate. We have enough guns to arm a small country and a german shepard. Plus I dont have to worry about much since the guns arent around me and the dog loves me..

[ QUOTE ]
I thought owning a gun increased the chances of dying due to one.

Not that I don't enjoy firearms, but statistics got their say - if its correct that is.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is just drivel spit out by the Anti-gun political groups like million mom march, etc. Their statistics are so biased it is rediculous. There have been many studies proving the crap they spout is false, but they keep on whining. One of the big lies is about children dying from handgun deaths. Something like 97% of all the "children" they report as having died from gun violence are 14-21 y.o. gang members in the hood. Most people don't visualize that when the hear "children".

There is most certainly a correlation between

MORE GUNS= LESS CRIME/VIOLENCE

The safest places in the country/world are places with very few firearm ownership restrictions.
Alaska, Montana, Texas, Florida, Vermont, Idaho.
Switzerland is the best example here.

On the contrary, the most violent/dangerous areas of the country/world are places where citizen firearm ownership is severely restricted.
California, Chicago, NY, D.C., etc.

Remember, when you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns.
