I think this Rose Bowl matchup is going to be excellent, I'm pumped that the Rose Bowl got its traditional Big 10 vs. Pac 10 game, although Michigan is obviously very disappointed.

I see this game being decided by 7 or less points, with either team winning.

[/ QUOTE ]

no way. did you see UCLA's front four dominate that game?

UM's defense >>>> UCLA's defense

Booty is going to be running for his life, throwing picks like it's his job. UM is going to win like 24-7.

yeah....um
SC is 11th in sacks allowed per game
UCLA is 3rd in tackles for loss, so I don't see Michigan getting more pressure. Maybe equivalent.

I think 3-4 weeks more practice for a talented first year QB can make an amazing difference.

And USC is good b/c why? I don't understand why so many people have so much confidence in a medicore USC team in comparison to the last 3 years. They lost to OSU on the road, they lost to UCLA at home who isn't ranked. They didn't play well in the middle of the year. They stomped ND at home, they stomped Arkansas early in the year. But I doubt they would stomp Arkansas right now in a bowl game.

Face it USC isn't the golden boys of college football this year. They had a LOT of flaws. Michigan has it's own share of flaws, but the only flawful games they've put up all year are against Ball State and tOSU. One which they won and another they lost by 3 points on the road. What has USC done, lost 1 at home to a medicore UCLA team and lost to a mediocre OSU team on the road in which they were getting stomped at half time against.

[/ QUOTE ]
The way Michigan played against Ball State, they would have lost to Oregon State as well. Trojans choked to UCLA, but to say they are not in the college football elite anymore is ridiculous.

SC is one of the few teams that can match it by putting 4-5 quality wideouts on the field and protecting the QB as he passes.

mttr, you are seriously delusional and its getting old. usc is not close to osu. osu has more talent at wr and qb and rb. usc couldnt even stop ucla's pass rush and tehy werent even spreadign the field. did you watch that game? you know why they lost right? bc booty sucks and ucla put pressure on him.

[/ QUOTE ]
What game were you watching? The O-line was at fault, not Booty or the receivers. 5 false starts and zero pass protection. I'd like to see Troy Smith or anyone else put up a huge game with that crap. OSU might have more talent at QB and RB (our core is very young), but WR? Dream on.

I doubt it, but if you want to try. They were up 31-12 with 9 minutes left in the 4th. Maybe they didn't play well at the end of the game during garbage time but the game was pretty much in hand. Likewise, Oregon State was up 33-10. I don't think it's the same thing at all.

Oregon State is 31 while Ball State is 76 is what I'm getting at.

So they relaxed vs a bad when they were up, so what. They were up 19 points with 20 minutes to play against a cake walk team.

As an avid UCLA fan, I was very concerned about our defense when I realized that our usual pash rushing dominance had accounted for 0 sacks halfway through the 3rd quarter. We only had 2 sacks in the game.

I'll be rooting vociferiously for Michigan in the Rose Bowl, but USC has an incredible amount of natural talent at wr, qb, and rb. Booty and Gable are still young, but Gable, and possibly Booty will be talked about across the nation in two years.
