I'm less concerned with the posting of arbs at well-known square books than I am with the attitudes expressed by many towards the original poster that anybody who thinks certain information should be withheld is a "greedy bastard." In fact, in several of the arb threads, I've offered assistance explaining which side of the arb is the obvious "soft side" and suggested taking a position on the "soft side" rather than wasting time with an arb (unless the bettor has a very small bankroll.) I've also offered assistance with explaining the value of half points in different sports, etc. That sort of stuff is all amateur stuff but at least I'm taking the time to do it, and for most people, information is more valuable than a specific bet.

Sharing this sort of information is a lot different than encouraging people to max out bets at shaky, low limit square books. I certainly disagree that some of the books mentioned in these threads have "excellent financials and are well regarded."

Then you are confused beetman. Head over to SBR and check out Bowmans, Bodog, SB and SIA. None have D ratings and IIRC 2 have A ratings. I'm led to beleive that SB and SIA have strong financials as well since both have operated for years and have no desire it seems to rectify the situation with soft lines.

As for greedy bastards... I think we all are. Meh. Who cares? You don't wanna share any +EV information and just take whats offered... Go for it. No one is gonna cry.

The OP shares information. Granted, its low-key and more based on a "What have you done for me lately?" approach than open source code laid out on a website, but its the underlying problem.

Nobody can say what is right or wrong on how much someone is willing to help someone. Since that cannot be quantitativeeveevevevly answered, this whole discussion is moot. People can discuss the ethics or drawbacks of helping others, but nobody is going to agree. That is like Thremp said, a politics/philosophy type question, and why this thread should just die because #1. Nobody is going to change their minds and #2 the longer this thread goes, more information is going to get leaked out and just building againist your own motives atm.

Agreed. And by stirring an argument in this thread (OP, beetman, etc.), you have probably sparked more interest in arbs than the arb threads themselves.

Bowmans and Bodog deal dual lines and only new customers or idiots get the "square lines." There are lots of books with the abbreviation "SB," which one do you mean? And if you look at SBR's forum, there are several complaints about slow payments from SIA. Assuming that SIA are competent bookmakers is a real stretch of the imagination. Until about a month ago they would let you parlay things like a college football team first half -26 with over 28!

LOL. You're basically a step above a tout on the food chain and you're calling me names? Maybe if your referral bonus website doesn't work out you can start a 1-900 number selling STONE COLD MORTAL LOCKS and LEAD PIPE CINCHES to the masses!

If it wasn't for the share the weath attitude of 2+2 I would never have enjoyed the awesomeness of winning a $1000 free bet off of Joey Porter's sick skills.

The fact that you are comparing getting people started with arbing with selling a BS tout service shows how little you know. Number one, if you arb properly you will make money. Number two, I have always been willing to help people, always, whether or not it means I'll be turning a profit. Do you have any idea how many hours I've spent with people chatting on IM/PM to help them out and/or get them started (including OP), at no profit to me? That aside, the fact that I am actually turning a profit on a few affiliate accounts makes me a scumbag? Please explain what service I'm providing that is any different than a poker affiliate? In fact, I am doing far more than most poker affiliates ever do and making far less money.

I find it utterly astounding that you think you know anything about me and actually have the nerve to post such thoughts in this forum, basically running a smear campaign on me without ever having spoken to me. The fact that you make these assumptions and compare me, someone who actually helps people make money, to a scumbag "tout" shows what a lowlife you are.

I will no longer be posting information in this forum (aside from running the 3+1 challenge until the end of the year). It is not worth the stress caused by people like this.
