DpR,
I assume the little black boxes are where you click to sit down? I just was not liking the blue background...what color are your action buttons? I just want mine to stand out more...I seem to have a hard time recognizing them at Stars whereas I never had that problem at Party. I've been trying to teach myself how to do this the past day or so and I kinda have the hang of it. Have an all black background and black/grey player circles, but I still have the original light blue action buttons and original color text box and tabs. I'd like the chat box to match, obviously. How would I set it up so that the player boxes are always silver and yellow when the action is on a player? I could do without the circles also. I guess I'm asking how I'd set yours up with silver boxes all the time and then yellow/red when the action is on a specific player, yellow action buttons with black text, and a solid background(ie, no table image). Thanks to anyone that helps out. Here it is:

As you can see throughout this thread, I Do not really have much clue what I Am doing. But thanks to the above posts I figured out how to what i needed.
My action buttons are the standard ones, but I would think that changing the color would be pretty easy (i.e. find the pic in the stars directory and change it). As far as having different colors flash when the action is on someone, I think that is just the appropriate file witha 'b' on the end (i.e. borderb.bmp file). So my guess is if you change that to the color you wanted it would work. But as I said, I am really a newb at this stuff. I just played around with some of the files to see what did what. Sorry I can't be of more help, maybe Dave can help you, he seems to really know his stuff. |

Dpr look up a .bat "did i screw up" post made by Pat it explains that .bat file. just remember to read the correction to his .bat file and what isn't noted is that you need to create the gxnew yourself

A little more info on DpR's mod to help the mod noobs (like me.)
1) Make sure you install the theme named Stars before installing this mod. 2) Unpack the file to your pokerstars directory. It will ask to replace certain files. Click ok. 3) Once you select the Stars theme, click the 'background' button and select the file named bg_new_solid.jpg in order to get rid of the default Stars background. It's located in the \Pokerstars\Themes directory. 4) Select the simplified cards if you want it to look like the above picture. Hope this helps and thanks again DpR. PatintheHat, I'd like some info on the .bat file. I can figure out the basics, but I'm not sure which files I need to be replacing each time I run it. |

This was my final .bat file if anyone wants it:
@echo off cd "C:\Program Files\PokerStars" copy /y "Themes\simple\gxold.ini" "Themes\simple\gx.ini" copy /y "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simpleold" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple" PokerStarsUpdate.exe copy /y "Themes\simple\gx.ini" "Themes\simple\gxold.ini" copy /y "Themes\simple\gxnew.ini" "Themes\simple\gx.ini" copy /y "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simpleold" copy /y "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simplenew" "Gx\chips&deck\deck\simple" Depending on what your modding you may need to make some changes and create you new/old files. |

well, the issue i am having is this:
i can mod anything pretty much to how i want it. i prefer the 'no-images' them BUT when you are dealt cards, they cover your stack? that is ridiculously frustrating and dangerous IMO. Any way around this? Also, with the squares (i have tried slightly larger circles as well), it can become difficult to distinguish whose cards are whose in a FR game |
