[ QUOTE ] Hey, why is half of your rant about Bush, when the person who amended the bill was Frist, and not Bush? Doesn't make much sense to me. [/ QUOTE ] Who will be signing this Bill? Head Chimp, I believe. [/ QUOTE ] So, when a Democratic legislator votes for a Port Security bill with a rider, it's cool, but when GWB signs the same bill (when it passed with enough votes to override a veto), it's different? Give me a break. Obviously the OP is mad, doesn't like George Bush, and doesn't have a clear grasp of politics (note the part where he blamed seat belt laws and the NY cell-phone/driving ban on scaremongering conservatives). |

it was tacked onto a port security bill. what senator in their mind would vote against that? [/ QUOTE ]You seem to not understand how the Senate works. They could not have tacked it onto the bill if they were the minority. |

the problem isn't that we don't live in a fair democracy, the problem is that we live in a country where the majority has grown too stupid and easily swayed, we are a country divided, all that was held sacred about our law is being warped to fit the needs of select groups of people

[/ QUOTE ] ok look, im apalled and disgusted with frist and he doesnt identify with me or many other republicans yet he will always get the media attention. all politicians are scum and if they arent scum they dont last very long in the business. i dont like frist and i dont like that he tacked on this bill but what was the entire senate to do? not vote in a port security bill with a bit of anti-gaming legislation attached to it? i can perfectly understand that overall this bill was needed but unfortunately frist was scum enough to attach something to it that shouldnt have been. |

wow, everyone on 2+2 isnt a die-hard republican?
I dont like the current administration, and I consider myself liberal, however I think that people need to realize that there is a vast difference between neo conservatives and true conservatives. Sadly I think that conservatives need to realize this the most. It seems that too many conservatives actively support neo-conservatism because they dont know what else to do. They are afraid to be called a liberal. Just because your sheppard has lead you to green pastures your whole life, it is not wise to continue to follow his lead when the signs on the road make it clear that the path you walk goes straight to the slaughter house. |
