Trip tens and Lawson came to mind right away. The other one was in the Razz tournament, but I don't remember many details. I believe Dutch Boyd and TJ Cloutier were heads up. Dutch had nothing and just kept calling down. I remember laughing at the hand.

Anyone remember this a little better?

[/ QUOTE ]
Dutch didn't just call. I think he raised on sixth street. Rather than reraising, TJ called and said "You raise? You must have some draw." I don't know how Dutch got that far, but I am sure TJ had a lot more razz experience.

Black didn't choke anywhere near as extremely as Lazar. Ad neither comes close to John Shipley's meltdown in 2002. More than double anyone else in chips to start the FT, and he ends up going out 7th!

Vahedi's meltdown a couple years ago was pretty embarassing also.

i nominate Paul Wastika. if he was telling the truth. folding an open end straight flush draw 3 handed in the ME final table with 2 cards to come.

[/ QUOTE ]

No offense, but I don't think any sort of laydown of any sort of draw when down to the final three of the ME can be nominated.

The money difference between places is so great, that at the very very worst, you can only call it "weak," not "bad," or "worst." MILLIONS of DOLLARS sort of means all bets are off, if you'll excuse the expression. I mean, we don't know if he felt outclassed, and would have been giddy to finish in second, etc.

Just my two cents.

There were several terribly played hands in that HU match by Dutch. One time Fischman was even calling T.J.'s wheel from the rail, but Dutch continued to draw to an 8 or something ridiculous. I think he knew he was way outmatched and his only chance was to play it like bingo, and just call and hope to outdraw. Another time T.J. drawls "I had you beat the whole way, Dutch", and Dutch just sits there looking a guy waiting on the electric chair while his wife makes out with the D.A. in the hallway. That was fun to watch.

Although it's too bad Dutch lucked out so much, because a headsup Razz match between Cloutier and Lederer would have been something to see.

[I hope you're kidding, This isn't in the top 1000 worst plays ever televised. He had two overs, a flush draw, and could also have been bluffing the str too.

now his REREREraise with K5o on a KT7 board vs Barch IS in the Top 10.

[/ QUOTE ]

how about his flat call on the flop with only Q high on a rainbow flop?

[/ QUOTE ]

He was planning to bluff the turn. Haven't you ever done that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Usually, one does this when the OOP player checks to you. If he bets, bluffing becomes pretty stupid.

Also, when he picked up the flush draw on the turn and actually had the outs to just call, bluff-raising became a truly retarded play.

Farha's lay-down of top pair (9s) to Moneymaker's all-in bluff. Cost him 2.5 million and the title.

FLAME ON!!!

Oh, terrible laydowns, not costly. My bad.

i believe it cost him either less (around the area of 1.3m or so, forgot what 2nd place was) or more (if you include endorsement deals) than 2.5m.

If you want a flame, that was not a particularly bad play, even if it was costly. Would have been spectacular if the ME had ended with a stone bluff like that.

The hand where he called on third with (9Q)9 left me laughing and shaking my head.

How about ANDREW BLACKs meltdown at the final table in 2005?

[/ QUOTE ]

FYP

[/ QUOTE ]

you have no idea what you are talking about.

if anything, andrew black made an amazing call against dannenmann.

dannenmann managed to suck out that hand, got a ton of chips, and proceeded to win a coin flip to knock andrew black out of the tournament.
