The Old 97s - Niteclub
It is fun to be in a bar with this on the jukebox, drunk off one's ass, singing along with a sad, anthemic chorus that culminates in "I just might get drunk tonight and burn the niteclub down!" The Commodores - Brick House Yeah, you hear it all the time. But it's the most danceable song of all time with THE funk bassline; it even makes clumsy nerds like me want to get up and shake my ass. Air - Moon Safari Tried to pick one song, but the album feels like one long, weird song such that any song by itself sounds out of context. The Queers - Mirage Live, because it is mixed poorly on an album. A cover of a Shondels song, this has a great build-up/release that is executed perfectly by the best post-Ramones pop-punk band in the history of ever. Weezer - Only in Dreams An under-stated and perhaps under-rated modern epic. |

Faces - Stay With Me, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BrFYwL0yfc [/ QUOTE ] Nice, I love the Faces. Have you heard their live version of Maybe I'm Amazed? It blows McCartney's out of the water. |

[ QUOTE ] Anything Postal Service is good, much better than their new incarnation (Death Cab For Cutie) [/ QUOTE ] Totally, man. I hate when good bands start new projects that suck. Like when Zep disbanded and started the Yardbirds. [/ QUOTE ] ahahahahahah awesome fwiw the best Postal Service song is the first one, "The Dream of Evan and Chan" |

Hard Drive -- Evan Dando
Formerly of the Lemonheads, this song was Dando's idea of the best way to live without drugs. See the World -- Gomez Beautiful little song; nice commentary and understated compared to the rest of their new album, which I just bought. Anaesthesia Necrophilia -- Stuart Davis http://www.pastestore.com/radio/Stua...ecrophilia.mp3 Very interesting writer; the song's just fun to listen to, with a very witty ending. Get In the Car -- Blu Sanders One of the few wuss-rockers who knows how to write an original love song. The First Single -- The Format Awesome live band deserves more recognition. |
