[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Odds of being killed sometime in the next year in any sort of transportation accident: 77 to 1 link [/ QUOTE ]this has to be wrong. because a person's life expectancy is about 73 years or something i think. and even though the odds of getting killed in that manner changes over the life-cycle, there are many many other ways to die(cancer, heart attack, violence) and those will all have to amount to a very neglible number forthat to be true. also, did 1/77th of your high school/college class die in transportation accidents EACH year? [/ QUOTE ] Odds of getting killed (for American) at all in the next year are about 0.8% so that 77 to 1 is ridiculous. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm Deaths/Mortality (Data are for U.S. for year indicated) Number of deaths: 2,448,288 Death rate: 841.9 deaths per 100,000 population Accidents (unintentional injuries): 109,277 |

Around 200 chambers, I'd say.
I've had my number come up on the roulette wheel too often for me to even consider going under 50. |

Money buys security which allows you to do the things you want to with your time instead of working a dead-end job (or two) providing for a family. This leads to happiness. [/ QUOTE ] I've had to explain this exact position to so many retards in my time. I think I love you. |

[ QUOTE ]
the wording of the OP suggests you are getting paid 10 million dollars to pull the trigger. at least thats how i interpreted it. which is a pretty important factor to me. if 10 million was the prize for not getting shot then i might have to up it into the neighborhood of 8 chambers [/ QUOTE ] How does that factor into it? Are you expecting to survive if you do get shot? AB |

Standard revolver for 5 million dollars. [/ QUOTE ] Easy. I would do almost anything where the Probability of Success is >=75%, the EV is > $4M and the downshot is death. |

[ QUOTE ]
Odds of being killed sometime in the next year in any sort of transportation accident: 77 to 1 link [/ QUOTE ] That link is WRONG. The LIFETIME chance of being killed in any transport accident is 77 to 1, That is NOT the odds for just next year. More to the point, the LIFETIME ODDS of dying in an accident are about 33 to 1. The ONE YEAR odds of dying in an accident (of any kind) is roughly 2661 to 1. Clearly then I would gladly take 10 million by taking one shot from a gun with 2662 chambers. AB |
