IMO it's about a more detailed long forum discussion.

And you'd be right. However, we will be allowing a small amount of short answer stuff too, as it suits and seems appropriate. It was too, too dry before the name change, so there needs to be some variety. The focus is on the cerebral and discursive, but we also have to allow the aesthetic (see the art posts) and also the odd fun/thinking thread that is available to quick responses, to allow a nice mix that properly compliments the discussions.

I'm not sure that's all clear, but we'll be learning as we go, and doing our best to keep it a mostly talking, but more importantly ALWAYS THINKING forum.

*sigh*

Can;t be bothered to waste time on you, so I'll pick one subject, and the discussion ends AFAIC.

hmmm why am i not surprised you're retreating again when it becomes obvious you're wrong.

Your forum never should have even been created as a large majority of people were opposed to its split, but it was created because no one would read your precious reviews that you put so much effort into, or 50 awesome new list threads a day. And yet it was created and has failed to live up to any purpose as of yet.

How is it that your new mod Madtown is the only one of you guys that realizes the forum isnt in great shape?

Our decision to recast the role of Evan with MEbenhoe is working out fantastically!

retreating? Was I wrong in my refutation? In what ways is this a political thread?

Political means dealing with politics? are you fine with that idea?

okay...

definition here

Can you read the thread and tell me its mostly or even 10% about matters in the political arena?

thanks

I think the forum is fine. So you want to make me out to be a DB fanboy, go for it. I think everyone here knows it's not true. I say what is on my mind, period.

I wasn't for the creation of it in the beginning either, but I can't argue that it was a complete success in the mod playground. My only hang-up is why not call a spade a spade and stop messing around with the name? It's A&E, regardless of what name we give it this week.

MEb,

Rewriting history???

TLDR and LOL were created after extensive discussion and debate, and was the brainchild of El Diablo, as a consensus solution. As I pointed out, interestingly enough, even though he was spearheading the effort against an OOT split, that is exactly what he created, splits from OOT; when all DB, myself and others were trying to do, was create additional Topic driven forums, specifically at the time A&E.

The creation of additional topic driven forums is clearly on Mat and Mason's agenda, and I certainly look forward to our moving forward with their creation.

In the meantime, TLDR and LOL will also be made the best forums that they can be for the posters that choose to post in those forums.

If you have any additional constructive comments about how to make any of the forums better, please share them.

you were retreating in the fact that you choose to respond to one thread i mislabeled political, when it is in fact a half political/half ethical hybrid, whatever, yet you ignore the argument of all the one liner list threads, the fact that your great review forum has a brilliant three line review of march of the penguins with a few one liner responses, yet you move a thread asking which diehard movie is the best, because i mean clearly its not as in depth of a thread as the march of the penguins thread. but of all this go ahead and latch on to the doctor assisted suicide thread and ignore all the other arguments around it. no its not your attempt to make your own OOT because you'd completely made yourself into a joke in the real oot, even though >90% of the threads in your forum are OOT threads.

Yes, and when I explain the next thread, you'll retract what you said about that and want me to explain thread 3...and so on...ad nauseam...

But, I've had enough arguing with you, Yappy, perhaps another time.

WOOF!
