Elaine, I'm not sure what you're trying to imply, but you were surely never offered a job as a mod.

[/ QUOTE ]
For clarity's sake, I'd like to point out that my post is in reference to this line, "other people were asked to be mods before you ever had the opportunity and we turned the job down because it didn't pay anything."

Well, she may have been offered a mod position during the wacki/Dyn-GREEN time, we don't know. That was obviously before 2p2 was putting that much thought into how well the mods would interact with the larger community. I like Elaine, as I keep saying, but her modding OOT is like asking Hitler to MC a NAACP convention.

Dids, I'm pretty sure every mod nomination was brought up in the mod forum. Since I was privy to such knowledge for nearly all of the user mod era until last week I'm pretty confident that she wasn't. Let alone the fact that she's batshit insane and would never be chosen as a mod by even slightly reasonable people.

Evan,

I was referencing the time when there weren't user mods beyond the few in the zoo and OOT.

News flash: other people were asked to be mods before you ever had the opportunity and we turned the job down because it didn't pay anything. It's a lot of work for no reward except power.

[/ QUOTE ]

if someone asked you to be a mod this board is run worse than i thought, which is an astounding thought.

Funny how I don't see half this thread because so many of you are now on my ignore list (if you announced that you voted for banning me in Censored's thread you are now on my ignore list).

Suggestion to those who hate me: add me to YOUR ignore list.

[/ QUOTE ]

Let's say Ed was the strapping star quarterback of the Oakland Raiders, and you were his blushing bride. One unlucky autumn Sunday, Ed gets sacked about half a dozen times and generally spends most of the game with his face buried in the turf. May you then storm into the locker room and chew out Ed's offensive line? No; of course not. You give Sup Bro the credit he deserves and move on. The same is true here.

[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed your (otherwise excellent) post.

I will address a few things:

1. I don't feel like I have special status as Ed's wife. If you disagree, please post examples to prove me otherwise.

2. I do, however, feel that I have slightly special knowledge about the inner-workings of TwoPlusTwo and these forums. I believe that TwoPlusTwo will continue to grow and there will come a time that a decision must be made about what kind of forum exists here - is it poker strategy or is it other topics? Right now, OOT is "tolerated" because it is profitable. But as soon as it becomes unprofitable or risky, I believe OOT will die. That's just my personal opinion and feel free to disagree, but I just don't see Mason Malmuth as Larry Flint, ready to go into expensive legal battle to protect your so-called freedoms. My prediction is that someone will slap a large law suit against 2+2 and, even if the suit doesn't have merit, , it will cost money to defend and so OOT will change dramatically in order to protect what the heads of 2+2 care about: poker strategy and profit.

3. Yes, Evan, I was asked to be a mod. It was early on when I posted as Otis. That's when Mat started the whole mod thing. I was one of the instigators who brought about moderators. I turned down the offer because it didn't pay any money and I felt it would be a lot of work and because he said I'd have to conceal my identity since I am so disliked.

4. I know a flush beats a straight. I don't play a lot of poker, but I helped edit Getting Started and I understand the basics. I play very little and I don't like to play live. I also don't like to discuss illegal activity.
