Considering someone started a whole thread about Quantum Leap, I'm pretty surprised no one has said Quantum Leap.

What do you mean "is not even close"?

[/ QUOTE ]
There are many shows that should not be cancelled. However Firefly is the greatest example because it was such an incredibly good show, was treated so badly by Fox and just so totally obviously should not have been cancelled.

You just described Arrested Development as well. I'll have to check out firefly now I guess.

There were two outstanding mock reality shows that couldn't draw flies but I thought were funny as hell:

"My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss" - mock Donald Trump puts unsuspecting (read: gullible) contestants through a series of ridiculous tasks. Unfortunately, it was in the same time slot as the first season of "Desperate Housewives" and got mauled.

"Joe Schmo" - maybe because the show was on Spike the ratings sucked, but even with a huge wrestling audience lead-in its second season's viewership was horrendous. It was also saddled with a very late time slot.

I'm not sure how long they could have pulled off these fake shows, but it's a moot point anyway as I was apparently the only one watching them.

Excellent call with Boomtown. Season one is perhaps the best season of a TV show I've seen. Season two was a trainwreck though.

Also second Ed, and the obvious Arrested Development.

Arrested Development was probably better, but I'd be most excited to hear that Firefly was coming back.

I got the DVDs a few months back, and was very, very sad when I watched the last episode.
