guys,

I think we are disagreeing on what "bigtime" means. I don't think we should be talking about your favorite "I'm superior to you because I've heard of this guy" artist like Sufjan Stevens or Modest Mouse getting one radio signle and selling out one amphitheater as "big time". Big time is coming out with an album and having the commercials all over MTV and iTunes, selling out concert dates months in advance at large venues, etc.

While some of these bands may be good, many are not even CLOSE to making it 'bigtime'

More agreeance. Though, they did have a shot with a major deal, got quite a bit of radio play in Chicago but didn't catch on. They were promply dumped by the major. Good music, though, and really cool guys.

they're also excellent live, saw them twice when I lived in Champaign
