A lot of people who make a hell of a lot more than 100k per mo live in Ohio. I'd rather not live here, but I'm marrying a great girl who is pretty attached to her family here. And I have my own family, friends, etc.
And I'm pretty sure Dave Chappelle is originally from Dayton. |

[ QUOTE ] Matt has always said in his blog he is overly conservative bankroll management wise. So don't take the fact that he's playing 30/60 to mean he only has a 500BB roll for any given stakes. So basically it comes down to Matt makes fun of 2+2'ers as a joke, and either those really good 2+2'ers or those non good 2+2'ers point out that there are really good 2+2'ers out there to try and win the argument, correct? Kinda like how seemingly no one realized Vince/Smoothcall was a troll on here, few realize he's making a generalization joke to get a rise out of people. It's natural to mock someone like El due to his post count regardless of his success and skill. [/ QUOTE ] I read a post recently where Matt specifically stated that he'd only keep 500 BB online for 30/60 and only move up when he had 500BB for the next level. People take money offline for a number of reasons and I misunderstood him thinking he only had 500BB at 30/60 for his actual roll. Anyways your second point completely missed Matt's ridiculous statement on here (that I'm very confident he believes) that very few players on 2+2 would match up to his hourly rate or possibly his skill level. Matt simply based this off of his claimed $700/hour winrate and assumed not many on here could do better. I'd like to see how his real hourly would stack up to great players like Schneider, J_V, SteveG, James282, Dcifrths, NYPlayer, HiatusOver, Nomar, DPR, Chawinski, Glen etc etc. at the end of the year. I personally take no offense to his ribbing of 2+2ers and realize its all in good fun. Also, I admire his criticism of some groupthink and the signal too noise ratio that is present in many of the threads in the medium stakes and mid high short forum. [/ QUOTE ] Would any seriously successful poker player not have like 3-infinity times more money stashed away than they keep online? That being said, his blog and/or writing style certainly gives the impression that his winrate isn't nearly what he is stating now. |

There really aren't that many benefits to being an author, or at least a poker one. [/ QUOTE ] I dunno, I think becoming a poker author is the best career decision I've made so far in my life. |
