[ QUOTE ]
I wonder if Antonio is getting staked for this? I remember after the first one he was chatting about how it was too big of a game for his bankroll. [/ QUOTE ] I wondered if Tilly was there to keep an eye on her investments (boyfriend Laak and his boyfriend Esfandiari). BTW -- major props to Antonio for his comment about Matusow picking Danny to be on a desert island with as being very gay. |

[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Matusow and Little Danny Negreanu having their mommies there was pretty weird. Negreanu actually calls his mother "Mommy", and she brought him his lunch in a plastic bag. Is he in the third grade or what? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, she brought him the big thermos. Pretty funny! [ QUOTE ] What was the deal with those big cloth-covered cameras all around the table? I don't remember them being there last season. They're pretty distracting. [/ QUOTE ] They were draped in black last year. |

[ QUOTE ]
negreanu's raise with QJ against Unabomber was a big mistake. Laak will never ever call with a hand that is beaten, and will probably never ever fold a better hand. [/ QUOTE ] Daniel didn't know if he was ahead or not and needed to find out. And as was already said, the board had a ton of draws. Slowplaying vulnerable hands against good opponents is a big mistake. |

i gained alot of respect for laak with that laydown (aq). however i wonder if daniel would have been quiet if he would have still folded. it seems like daniel talks too much while he is in hands. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe its just me, but I think that was a very easy laydown and was surprised he took so long. Daniel bet out and then came over the top of a raise. Do you really think hes doing that with QK? |

[ QUOTE ]
If he just raised and sat in silence, I think Phil would have called. [/ QUOTE ] I think you all are missing the point- I don't think Dan wanted him to cold call. Unabomber had position on Daniel. A flat call is very scary. And there are a ton of scare cards that could come on the turn. The best play is to try to win the hand there because if a turn card is seen and its anything scary at all, then I think Daniel has to be in check/fold mode. |

[/ QUOTE ] Funniest part of the show imo because you know that everyone else was probably thinking that but nobody else wanted to say it on tv, lol. |

[/ QUOTE ] His "Brutal" comment goes against this train of thought though. It seemed to me like that comment was engineered to make Laak think about what he said and call, based on the footage Daniel knows Laak has seen from the last season of HSP. Am I totally off in that thought? |

Daniel's initial reaction seemed sincere. He had a few big second best hands on the first show and I think he was initially afraid that Laak flopped the straight.
