Also seems kind of dumb to announce himself like that. He couldn't get a key logger onto your machine through AIM could he? And if not, then why alert you to his presence and give you a lead to follow if something bad happens.

I think he probably just got his chat banned for something and wants to beg for money or something. Would be interesting to know.

Applications won't show it, but the processes tab will. Good luck figuring out which process is the culprit though.
