[ QUOTE ] redbean makes great points, but it seems like some of you would defend hitler, as long as you went against public opinion [/ QUOTE ] Make no mistake, I'm not playing devil's advocate here. I actually believe the stuff I am writing, with a passion that you cannot even begin to imagine. [/ QUOTE ] so if he admits to the clear in the GJ testimony? then your agrument is shot to hell? or no? |

[/ QUOTE ] i believe it, you make good arguements. i was rooting for bonds myself, but i can also understand why someone wouldnt. i dont think you're a massive hypocrite if you dont want to see the all time hr leader making headlines in balco trials while being a fan of the mariners during the memorable ryan franklin era. clearly, theres a difference. |

[ QUOTE ] You'd figure his arm would have grown in the past 12 years if he's been using roids, no? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe I'm dumb, what do you mean by this? [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure he's referring to a report by Will Carroll. After that awful article about Bonds elbow "armor," Will interviewed the inventor. The inventor claims that in the X years he's made the piece for Bonds, his arm size hasn't changed much at all. |

If Barry comes out tomorrow and says, "I cheated. Steroids helped me hit home runs." I would not think any differently of his record because people have cheated/had unfair advantages throughout the over 100-year history of baseball. Why treat Barry any differently? Maybe he had advantages. So did Ruth and Aaron and everybody else. So what? |

Trying to understand your point.
Babe Ruth had no black pitchers to face, so he got help, just like Bonds. Aaron didn't have to face any juiced up pitchers or many Latin pitchers, so he got help too. Rose took greenies, Neikro used grease, Gibson pitched when the mound was higher, Williams doesn't have the numbers becasue of WWII, etc... Is that your point? |

Drew, are you mentally retarded or something? Bonds has evidence that he didn't use steroids in the form of a drug test. Since you don't seem to be able to follow logic here's an example- let's say someone says that you used Cocaine last night. You take a drug test, and that finds that there was no cocaine in your system. That would be "evidence". [/ QUOTE ] Funniest post in this thread. Take a look at the Tour de France and see how difficult it is to catch "dopers", and MLB doesn't every really try. Every drug test is not the same. If you put the MLB drug test on a scale of 1-10 (1=no test, 10=best testing available via current technology) and MLB would be about a 2. Olympians laugh at how easy it is to get around the MLB drug test. Yet, if the MLB was a 10, I would still not say that it proved Barry (or anyone else) didn't dope. I love Lance Armstrong, and his abilities are amazing, but if my life were on the line and I had to choose, I'd would say he probably doped, and he Never failed a test either (and those were real tests). |

[/ QUOTE ] Of course it's not 100% proof, but it is evidence for him not using steroids. It is, however, evidence. Drew said that Bonds had no evidence that he *didn't* use steroids. The burden of *proof* is not on Barry, it's on his accusers (the government). |
