I agree with Chuck that the Warrs have to end this by game 6, but he killed his own arguments with some of the examples, the Suns unfortunately had homecourt when they blew it against the Rockets.

Wow...when was the last time winning an MVP was an embarrassment to the winner? Dirk gets handed that trophy after getting bounced 4-1 by the [censored] Warriors (largely due to his total disappearing act), and he'll totally wish he hadn't won the thing at all.

Also, has there ever been a series with a greater regular season win disparity go in the favor of the underdog? Eight seed has only won two other times, and neither time was the win disparity (25) as big. Can't imagine a 25-game gap in a 2-7, 3-6, or 4-5 series. If the Mavs don't pull out of this, it becomes the biggest playoff upset (at least calculated by wins of the teams involved) in the HISTORY of the NBA, right? And given that of the four major pro sports, the NBA Playoffs are the LEAST conducive to upsets (football - one game, anything can happen...baseball - couple pitchers get hot, etc...hockey - hot goalie can carry a worse team to a win, more volatile game night-in-night-out anyway)...wouldn't this immediately become a huge candidate for THE SINGLE biggest upset in the history of major professional American team sports (at least on paper)?

[/ QUOTE ] Yes. 67 win teams don't lose in the 1st round in the NBA ever. MVP's of the regular season don't disappear in the 1st round like this ever. Dallas is healthy, well-coached, has the MVP, a strong cast, deep bench. If Dallas loses this series, it'll be the most embarrassing first round loss ever. |

"Their "offense" is a joke if you ask me. Its all fast breaks and three's. " Disagree completely. They're great at dribble penetration and passes from the lane. SJax has been particularly surprising in his ability to make sweet little drop off passes. [/ QUOTE ]If I saw it more than once or twice a quarter I would agree with you. I am too lazy to find this info out, but whot would GS play if the move on? SA/Nugs? |

If Dallas loses this series, it'll be the most embarrassing first round loss ever. [/ QUOTE ] This is a given IMO. What I'm asking is...in ANY major American team sport, can ANYONE think of a playoff elimination that is more embarassing (in any round) based on the regular seasons of the teams involved and the sport being played? |
