well we will know sunday, no way I can get a decent place to stay in Florida before the 4th week is over. Well, unless I want to stay with my cousins under the tarps they have strung outside their double-wide.

[/ QUOTE ]

Define "decent place to stay." I think you're looking for a value. Hint: the Hard Rock doesn't give poker rates.

Vox, are you a lawyer?

[/ QUOTE ]

One day, maybe. I've completed law school, though.

[/ QUOTE ]

Congratulations on that, and good luck in your endeavor.

Funny, though, how I guessed from your dissection of the S-S article. Classic twisted lawyer logic.

When you're dealing with lawyers, it's good to use lawyer logic. The Seminoles are paying lip service to the law, in that everyone sits down with $100, and then chip runners get the rest. I'm not sure who came up with that one, but I bet it was a brush. Which the Hard Rock needs to hire many more of, now.

I TT the Seminoles and they plan to offer high stakes Hold em games. All other games they plan to respect the $5 limits.

The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa is offering higher limits. Their staff has confirmed it and they have flyers posted in the poker room. The ante up guys have also confirmed it.

1/2nl, 2/5nl, 10/25nl

This makes no sense in light of the tribe's announcement.

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you sourcing the Sun-Sentinel? Or some other new announcement for which you have yet to provide a source?

Read the Sun-Sentinel article carefully, if it's the former, and correct your statements. Otherwise, everyone here anxiously awaits your new info.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure what you see in the S-S article that I don't. But this pretty much says it:

"Bitner said the tribe has been careful to offer the same gambling options allowed by the state, taking a cooperative stance rather than a combative one."

If the Seminoles are talking out of both sides of their mouth or lying or shading the truth ... well, that would not be surprising and would not be the first time.

[/ QUOTE ]

They haven't been complying with the same rules - go to a dog track and you'll find a max of a $45 single table tourney. You can find a $1050 single table tournament at the hard rock. In fact, you can't play a dealer dealt tourney for less than $125.

This also jives with what a dealer told me they would do (although) the dealers were not supposed to disclose at the time.

LOL. I can picture all the HR brushes salivating over the tips they think they'll get for running $5,000 to the 10/25nl players. I've had a dealer at derby lane tell me she thinks she can average $5 a hand at the 100NL tables.

Any semi-professional will not be tipping over $2.

Also, I doubt many will be tipping over $5 per hand.........if they are, they are absolutely nuts.

It's ok, a lot of people are thinking along these lines. Everyone thinks there will be money everywhere, people quitting their jobs and what-not. It'll definitely be much more fun and better for the people who actually want to play poker.

I think it's ridiculous too. Dealing cards is not a six figure job. These guys just think it will be.
