The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa is offering higher limits. Their staff has confirmed it and they have flyers posted in the poker room. The ante up guys have also confirmed it. 1/2nl, 2/5nl, 10/25nl http://blogs.tampabay.com/poker/2007...ock-highe.html [/ QUOTE ] This makes no sense in light of the tribe's announcement. |

I went to HR Hollywood last night and played two SNGs. Neither dealer knew anything about what would happen after July 1st. There were no signs or flyers anywhere. The place, even now with $2 max bets, was packed. The cashiers and sign in people were as slow, rude, and disorganized as ever. Once the limits go up, the place will be an even bigger zoo. If they cannot beat the parimutuels, there is really no reason to play at any of the indian casinos, unless you live right next to them. To me, the best place right now in South Florida is the Isle--just absolutely beautiful and classy.
As far as the HR in Tampa, I hope you are all right and that we see high limit games. However, I still view this as much wishful thinking and people who are deliberately misinforming us. I tend to believe the Sun-Sentinel and Gary Bitner, the tribe's spokesman, as my source of accurate information. See you at the Isle on Sunday! |

Read the Sun-Sentinel article carefully, if it's the former, and correct your statements. Otherwise, everyone here anxiously awaits your new info. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure what you see in the S-S article that I don't. But this pretty much says it: "Bitner said the tribe has been careful to offer the same gambling options allowed by the state, taking a cooperative stance rather than a combative one." If the Seminoles are talking out of both sides of their mouth or lying or shading the truth ... well, that would not be surprising and would not be the first time. |

[/ QUOTE ] "same gambling options" -- I'm reading that as Class II gaming, as opposed to Class III; you may be reading that as the same limits and buy-in caps, a distinction a daily newspaper may not be willing to make. The point is, the Seminole speaker carefully chose his words in the entire piece to be AMBIGUOUS, to mention "higher stakes", and not stakes that take a creative and expansive view of the law, as to draw only the right attention. BIMO. |

well we will know sunday, no way I can get a decent place to stay in Florida before the 4th week is over. Well, unless I want to stay with my cousins under the tarps they have strung outside their double-wide.
