davey, I guess I am use to American sports, which do not have promotion/relegation, and every team wants to win.

Thats one of the issues the premiership has at the minute, the finances in the premiership are such that 50%+ of the teams start the season not wanting to go down rather than wanting to win and the gap between the top and bottom clubs is so huge.
As you go down the leagues you tend to find its a lot closer with more teams aiming high, but the quality of football isnt as good. The chapionship I think there is about 12 points between first and 17th, so a couple of wins and losses and the table changes drastically. |

what can be done to level the playing field? Salary cap and revenue sharing are one that come to mind, but I am not so much a fan of either of those because I think it leads to complacent owners. Maybe a cap on transfers, or the money spent on transfers?

i was peeping soccer vids on youtube and came across this old one of jay jay okocha, the force and technique with which he struck the ball...amazing, not to mention his brilliance with the ball.

Salary cap will never work because it would have to be europe wide and the top teams would never agree

This is a good time to ask this. I'm looking for the table for every matchday of the season. For example, I would like the table after everyone has played 5 matches, or even whatever week it is so that some teams have played more or fewer matches.
These are easy to find in Spanish for the Primera but I can't find them for the Premiership and it's a bit difficult to search for them because using the word archive or something puts up final tables from previous seasons. |
