[ QUOTE ]
I'm no fan of zeejustin, I dont even know the guy and his post in this thread is a joke. That put aside however, I really think you people are getting way too into this. So he violated party's rules and they proceeded to confiscate everything he had in his accounts. I did not agree with that JJprodigy kid getting his last 40k confiscated, so I guess I dont agree with party confiscating the money zeejustin has _legitimetly_ won either. I do however see that party needs their signaleffect to be as strong as can be, but I'm not sure if I think its _fair_ that they took every last dollar. I just feel the majority of the posters in this thread takes way too much pleasure in kicking someone when they're down. Perhaps because I don't play tournaments at all I'm having trouble pinpointing where everyone's overthetop anger stems from. I'll go out on a limb (and probably get flamed) by guessing that jealousy might be a factor for some posters? -Nikla [/ QUOTE ] Tell that to the person who was busted out on the bubble by one of ZJ's six accounts. |

[ QUOTE ] Is it fair to ask curtains (and others) how long/how much they knew about Zee and others multi-accounting? [/ QUOTE ] No. [/ QUOTE ] Why not? You've got two buddies. Buddy A has been taking a few bucks out of your pocket every now and then without you knowing. Buddy B knows, however -- but doesn't tell you about it. You catch Buddy A with his hand in your pocket -- and you feel (justifiably) wronged. Buddy B admits he knew what Buddy A was doing, and admits what Buddy A was doing was wrong -- shouldn't he have to explain why he didn't tell you? |

It's not fair on curtains because if he knew about it but chose not to say anything, that is very different from actually doing it himself.
If he didn't know anything, there will still be a debate claiming he did, and he's in a no-win situation either way. Lori |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Wait until your good friend comes to you with something unethical, but less than murder. See if you immediately race off to the nearest authority to turn him in. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, it’s true. I did use these accounts to enter multiple accounts in the same multi table tournaments. I have never done this in a tournament with less than 1,000 players. I have been at the same table as myself. For what it’s worth, my standard protocol has been to increase my number of tables when this happens. As most of you know, I will very rarely be playing fewer than six tables at a time. If I had 6 tables open and two of my accounts were brought to the same table, I would simply open up 4-6 more SNGs. I felt that this would negate my unethical advantage. With 10 tables open, I just play tight and solid. I can’t even remember the hole cards one account folded after the flop, and I’m certainly unable to pay special attention to that table. After talking to Curtains, I realize my standard play should have been to sit one account out when this happens, but I want to make it clear that I never used collusion to my advantage, never chip dumped, or did anything of the sort. [/ QUOTE ] I thought this was pretty funny. He started some extra SNGs when he was at the same table with himself so that he couldn't colude with himself. This may be true, but there is still the appearance of collusion. Everyone will assume you are exploiting the advantage to the maximum. People are likely to suspect that where there is smoke there is fire, and someone may be doing more rather than less thanwhat he was caught at. I think the punishment in these cases was somewaht harsh for the severity of the violation. However, any kind of cheating is not viewed well by the house or by other players, who suspect the worse. I have seen too many western movies where people got shot for some sort of cheating. While the cheating may not be as serious as some, he did wind up at the same table as himself. Also, having several strong pros playing several accounts can make these tournaments significantly tougher. This in itself is probably unfair to professional and amateur players in these tournaments playing one account. |
