i think at the end of the day this race will be between the yankees and boston, i doubt baltimore will be a big factor. so not really. if baltimore were for real i would agree, but they aren't. javy lopez also broke his finger today.

Baltimore has the best hitting, best setupman/closer, and best SP in the AL. They are in contention. The rest of the staff is solid too.

Whether they are "real" or not, they still have a 5 game lead at the end of May. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Why wouldn't you give 8:1 odds on the Yanks not making it if you feel like they are 9:1 to make it? Based on your analysis, that's pure +EV. But then you backtrack to 'vast majority.' What is that 60%, 75%? Why don't you just admit that your 90% chance statement was total BS, and that even you admit that you were wrong because you wouldn't put your money where your mouth is.
