a) Any excuse to see Caldwell's bugeyes, I love.....
b) I didn't see his heels touch the white line..and I don't THINK they did. he was on his toes... c) That was a good ruling on the pushout.. d) he had control TD. This reminds me of a Lions playoff game where the play was VERY similar to this and they ruled it out of bounds despite a clear pushout...That was the last good thing I remember that could have happened to the Lions in a long time. |

I am absolutely speechless right now. That is all for now. I'm in Ames with a bunch of my friends for a conference. This is sick. He never would have come down in bounds. [/ QUOTE ]watch the slow-mo replay they're showing right now...he DID GET HIS FIRST FOOT DOWN, and the second foot was on its way down when he was hit. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I haven't been keeping a tabs on the refs for the game, but that was a horrendous job on their part on that series. [/ QUOTE ]why? YOu have read everyone's posts which have explained that faceguarding is indeed a PI penalty even if you don't touch the guy, right? [/ QUOTE ] From Mike Periera: [ QUOTE ] There is no such thing as face-guarding in the National Football League. It is legal to face-guard a receiver. In order to have pass interference you must have contact. Any act without contact is not considered a foul. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] That was in 2001. My question is has the rule changed since then? [/ QUOTE ] Homer for some reason I believe that it was a penalty prior to 2000, then in 2000 it became contact. But that is from a bad memory. Assasani, The penalty that pissed me off was the infraction penalty. It was a false start clearly. As an offensive lineman I know it has to be instinctive to be safe from a penalty. The linemen clearly meant to move thus a penalty should have been called on the Colts. |

This isn't getting overturned. [/ QUOTE ] Sadly, no. Another terrible NFL rule. These calls shouldn't be put in the refs hands, it should be 2 feet or nothing. |

There was a 0% chance he could get both feet inbounds. [/ QUOTE ] A good receiver could definitely get the tips of his feet in bounds. |

I would hate to be the ref making this call. I think it needs to stand but could see it going either way.
