Am I the only Mets fan who thinks that John Maine is way overrated? He's got a very good fastball and a very mediocre everything else. If he matures and develops the control to consistently locate his fastball he could be a legitimate #2 or #3 starter, but come on. This guy is good and has been outstanding considering what we gave up for him but he is not an ace. Perez's stuff is much better, although he obviously has control issues too.

Not to hate, the guy has 5 wins and I'll take 5-2 smiling from Maine to start the season. But I do think he's kind of overrated, particularly amongst Mets fans and the NY media.

I mean I'd take Perez over Maine personally but I think both can be very good.

Also somebody please fire Jon Miller and Joe Morgan, they are awful. It's bad enough that I have to listen to their idiocy in MLB2K7... I DO NOT CARE WHAT SIDE OF THE MOUND THIS DEUCHEBAG FALLS OFF TOWARDS

Well he's been allowing baserunners but scattering hits to this point, plus wins are an overrated stat, so, yeah, he's somewhat overrated.

That said, and although I'm not much of a scout, he looks considerably better to me this year. His fastball has better movement, and his changeup in the dirt is fooling hitters.

Hahaha. I think that's the first time I ever seen an ump call that.

Series in Atlanta starting tonight, culminating with another Glavine vs. Smoltz matchup. Weather looks good down there all week, so hopefully no rain outs.

Sosa vs. Davies
Perez vs. James
Glavine vs. Smoltz

Can Delgado find his swing.....please.

If the Mets don't win this series, I plan on being in a very bad mood and taking it out on my family and dog.

We have the clear pitching edge in 1 of the games only b/c Glavine seems to be terrible against the Braves in just about every start.

Sosa vs Davies-If I go by what each has done this year, Sosa is the clear favorite.

Perez vs James-Same as previous.
