Very nice software, Ben.

It is working fine on my desktop computer (DT). However I wanted to use it on my laptop as well, which is on a network with my DT. I installed SS on laptop and finally figured out how to get it to recognize the access db on the DT. However when I start up SS now on the laptop I get the message Download Error: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. Do I need to do something special to get SS to connect with your servers from my laptop? Or maybe I need a different username/pw for the laptop. Will I be able to run both at the same time? (I want to use SS on my laptop to aid with datamining while I play on the DT.)

(BTW, never could get it to use the postgres db - some problem finding a system32 dll over the network)

Do you have any firewall software that might modify the laptop's http request? In the Laptop SS's Advanced Options, turn on "Encode Base64" and see if that helps.

You can use them at the same time as long as its the same IP address, which is probably true if you share your internet connection.

ben,

ive signed up for 1 year on the hope that i can get this all operating correctly.

but, after having built the aggregated db, and refreshing to get stats, it's taking around 45 minutes to do 125 tables when i have my normal "playing" programs running.

i turned off the "use aggregater," and had it just pull from my main db, and it then took from 30 to 90 seconds to score the same tables, 30 being the first time, and going steadily higher up to 90 secs for ensuing scoring.

my main db is about the size of all of my other ones combined, so using the aggregated mode shouldnt do more than double my time, if that. but going from an average of 60 seconds to approximately 40-45 minutes makes things unworkable.

i have demonster.ahk running at all times, regularly defrag, full vacuum daily, etc..

any ideas as to what gives?

These speed issues are most likely due to Party's "Monster Tables". Did you try running the "De-Monster" script found here on this board?

How did you come up with the cutoff of $50NL for bronze level?

I'm going to be starting at 100NL soon and would have most likely bought this but at $30 a month I'll pass...given 100NL is considered by most small stakes and anything above is medium I'd figure that would be the ceiling for the lowest tier on the pricing scheme.

uh, no, its not.

trying not to be short with you, but in the 4 sentences below what you quoted i wrote...

if you did read what i previously posted, im wondering why you'd ask that and why you'd make that assumption that this was my problem.

anyway, going from a 60 second "pull" to a 45 minute "pull," is attributing quite a lot to "monster", even if that were the case. everything was the same, i was pulling from the same tables, etc., same configurations, etc., the only difference being using the aggregater or just using my main db.

please, let's try to figure this out. as i said, i have already signed up for the full meal deal. now id just like to get things working right.

how often is it supposed to update? been half an hour now

Do you mean Sixth Sense's Table grid? That only updates when you press the Refresh button.

-Ben

[/ QUOTE ]

When I posted that, your server wasnt refreshing properly and was still giving me table stats from an hour ago.

We just tried to seperate the stakes into 3 categories as best we could.

In that case you might want to try it out at the Bronze level, to see if it can increase your win-rate. If you can win $16 more a month WITH SS, then its OK to pay $15 for it, right?

Oops, sorry if I missed that.

Other things to try are to shut down PT Aggregator's import while you are playing, and just start it up again when you are done.

The more things you have running at the same time, the more complicated the "trial and error" process is. You just need to try turning off the programs & trying different things until you get good performance.

And if you aren't running the de-monster script I still think that's worth at least trying.
