masquerade, this is flawed logic. because it is a cash game (and because he is not guaranteed to keep doing this once he (a) doubles up or (b) loses his stack - qutie easily to someone else if I wait for such a hand - I should be taking any +EV situation.

KKF, I had no basis other than my own feeling on this, but I felt that if he doubled up, he would not push a 4K stack but would still continue to play poorly. If he lost his stack, I did not know if he would rebuy and keep playing like this.

great post durr. a couple comments:
point 1: excellent point point 2: he may also leave once I or someone calls and wins this way. tilting him is not a huge consideration since he is already playing as if tilted. |

Matt Flynn made a good point: I'd hate to call with KQ and run into A-3. I think/thought A-7 and 66 are best - but it seems like the consensus among players who agree that I should take a +EV spot is more like A-8/9 and 77. ... I am now tending to come around to thinking those requirements are a bit better.

Masquerade, who is to say that if you wait for a better spot, someone else at the table won't pick him off first? I think you need to take any +EV opportunity.

Masquerade, you are assuming that you can wait for a premium hand. While your point that breaking him or doubling him up may change his behaviour, you forget that the longer you wait, the more likely someone else will take your place in calling him. For that reason, you need to take the first +EV situation.

Bluffthis, when he is pushing over the top of more than 50% of my raises, I think you have more of an advantage than coinflip poker. ... I also had a 14K stack and did not want to leave/move and give up the advantages that such a stack provides.
