The day he died I would estimate that 1 in 4 people on my college campus knew who he was without adding in "the guy from Nirvana." My perception at the time that dieing was his best career move (as far as becoming famous).

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who has actually nailed "kinda famous" in this thread. Everyone else mentioned that I'm a fan of I considered too famous to post (even Hicks, HST, Hedberg, etc.)

But come on, who knew who Peter Tomarken was until you looked it up / read MicroBob's post? Who among you even knew he was dead?
