nothing happened isn't that hard to believe.

Drunk guy hitting on ex somehow always means he's going to score?
Don't drunk guys hitting on their ex's have a pretty high chance of striking-out?

However, if they had been talking and hanging-out and were all friendly/chummy while they were drinking then obviously that leads to the possibility that his advances were more likely to succeed.

I like New2NL's line of confronting Jill and getting her to tell Mike.

Jack obviously won't tell Mike, but these are all your friends and you don't want to get involved as much as possible. Let them all sort it out themselves.

If Jill won't tell though, you'll need to break it to Mike.

Obviously Jack knew Jill was dating Mike? If that's the case then Jack and Jill are both douches. I'm not letting this sit on my conscience. It'll weigh on you every time you are around Mike.

Oh. Good point. doh.

I guess I was reading it like this:

obviously the way you put it makes sense for 'nothing happened'. i just got the sense from it that it was her being chummy with him, rather than the other way around. I figured otherwise she wouldn't've gone off to chat privately (in the bathroom ) or whatever.

I agree with Mike Gallo. Stay out of it.

Yeah. How is any of this any of your business at all? You didn't even hear it first hand. No good will come from interfering in this scenario.

If Mike was a really good bud and really liked the chick, I might say something about Jill. I just wouldn't include Jack in the equation. Not really fond of watching a good bud get hosed by some slutty bitch.

This is also a good reason why I don't bang chicks that have gone out with friends or family.

If Jack knew that Mike really liked or was dating Jill, and still did this, Jack would drop a few rungs on the ladder for me. Guys don't do that to their buds.

Come on dude, what good could possibly come from you saying something or telling him?

Until/unless he talks to you about this sore subject, do not say a word. If he asks then you tell him as little as possible or give some vague non specific answers.

Mike to Gamble "Jack and Jill had sexy time in bathroom"
Gamble "hmmm" while Gamble shakes head
Mike to Gamble "Did you ever hear anything about that"
Gamble "nahhhhhhhhhhh" as he shakes head again.

Tough spot sometimes, you gotta take one for the team.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which team? Taking one for the team includes letting your buddy get hosed?

You can let Mike know what you think of Jill without mentioning Jack.

Broes before hoes.

Gamble,

I've seen your picture. You don't look like a yenta. At least from the neck up.

A lot of good can come of it. Mike gets good info that his "girlfriend" is a sloot, that his "friend" is not above longdicking his girlfriend, and that things are not always what they seem.

I don't get this so-called "code" where people are just supposed to keep quiet when their friends are getting dicked over.

Before I married my first wife, apparently all of my really close friends thought she was a colossal bitch and treated me terribly. I had some misgivings but was pretty much blind to the situation. Oh how I wish one of my friends would have risked me getting mad at him so he could give me an outside perspective.

Is it their "fault" for not saying anything? Of course not, I'm a grown man, etc. But I don't agree that it's "none of their business." If you see a situation that might really cause some hurt, then it's okay to say something.
