Yeah, its full of abandoned looking buildings. My phone is [censored] up and dies after about 10 minutes of talking, battery is pretty old, and I was standing outside an abandoned gas station that looked like someone used it as a storage place with my charger plugged in so my phone wouldn't die while I tried to convince my friends to come get me tonight.

The hotel staff here is pretty awesome. They've been very nice and accomodating. One suggested a place that would deliver me some food and when I called they wouldn't take my debit card, and I was out of cash. I went to the front desk and asked where the closest place I could walk to was to use and ATM and the lady said 'Can you drive a stick?' and then told me to go out to the SUV out front and the keys were in it. Only stipulation she gave me was 'Don't go driving to Vegas now.' This town is one main strip that's like 3 or 4 miles long so it would have been about a 2 mile round trip walk. Saved me a bunch of time, which is about the one thing I have a ton of lol.

Sounds like they need fresh blood, expect a shotgun wedding in the morning.

I had a huge rant about this complete waste of skin and blood the OP calls a "friend" written out shortly after the story was posted, but decided not to go with it (I do that waaaaaaay too much...waste time writing then don't post it.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes what a complete douchemonkey this "friend" who OP LIVED WITH was.

rjoe,

WTF, there are clearly plenty of bars and restaurants in that city, like Ray's. Surely one of them is open late. I also noticed that it's on the way out of Lake Powell so obviously you get some lake stragglers looking to get weird.

Very disappointed you hung out with the hotel staff instead.

The bar is about a mile and a half down the road and I decided I didn't want to go get drunk and then walk that far down the highway. I'm just drinking by myself in the hotel room ;P

rjoe, you remind me too much of myself, which is not a good thing.

God I hope the day comes when I get to use the phrase "lake stragglers looking to get weird", that has me cracking up.

Geez. The car. The phone. This is turning into an episode of the Twilight Zone. I hope you're using some of this time plotting your revenge.

rjoefish,

I think it's about time we let the cat out of the bag here.

You actually died of heat stroke early yesterday evening. We've just been having a little message board fun at your expense (purgatory style, yo).

Your processing into teh afterworld will commence shortly. In the meantime, feel free to browse the other forums. The Legislation and Limit Hold Them sections should provide you with a general overview of what you have to look forward to for the rest of eternity.

So here's the story at this point. Friend that was supposed to pick up the van at 730 Vegas time never did. Its 9:15 there now. He won't answer his phone. Friend that worked at 8 isn't answering his phone, called his work to talk to him, guess what, he isn't scheduled to work until 2 and isn't at the store. Talked to his managers as people were trying to find him for me. At this point I have my dad offering to fly to Vegas to pick up the van and come back for me since my friends won't do it. I'm looking up car rental areas within 20 or so miles at the moment and if there's something available I will be getting a car to Vegas, getting the van, then coming back for my stuff then going back to Vegas. Hell, at this point I should just go back to Iowa as living with these 2 people is sounding like its going to be impossible with me trying to cut them apart every time I see them.
