[ QUOTE ] Hell, why stop there? Call the raise preflop, limp if there is no raise. C/C the flop. C/C the turn. C/C the river. Passive play ftw. [/ QUOTE ] No need to be a sarcastic dick. [/ QUOTE ] No, I don't need to be a sarcastic dick...but that's not to say that I don't enjoy it. |

[ QUOTE ]
Holy... [censored]... [censored] does the advice in this forum suck. If someone is wholeheartedly trying to improve they should post in MSNL, and I'm being incredibly serious. This post is a trainwreck. Bet the flop. Bet the turn! Value bet and block the river. As played, fold to the raise. C/C the turn is horrendous for several reasons. You let him dictate the betsize, you let him take the initiative, you let him take a free card, you don't extract value when ahead, AND most importantly you gain absolutely no information about his hand. Calling this river is horrendous (unless you have a read), and is very -ev in the long run. You turned your cards face up, and he still shows strength. The only hand you beat is a bluff. [/ QUOTE ] If you bet the turn as you advise, and he calls, what is your river plan? Check/ Call or bet again? Bet/Fold? When you answer this, I'll explain why checking the turn is better. |

[ QUOTE ] Never work at FR? This was a heads up pot, and it doesn't matter if there were 10 or 6 players preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I don't agree with this at all. [/ QUOTE ] The only relevance is that there was a higher chance that someone had AA, KK, QQ, JJ, or 37o preflop. There's more players, and more players = more hands. As long as you don't put villain on AA, then there's no relevance. If you had the best hand PF, then you likely have the best hand on the flop and turn. Please explain why you do not agree. |

We are on the turn buddy, and don't try and tell me that he can't have a draw here. He could have dozens. [/ QUOTE ] Did I say he CAN'T have a draw? You need to read more closely and stop making so many assumptions about "weak tight pussies." Obviously he CAN have a draw, there just aren't THAT many of them, since the flop was rainbow. Yes, he could have backdoor clubs, but he needs a piece of the flop to get to the turn in the first place. [ QUOTE ] ...and if people consistently fold to double barrels, you should be bluffing with them more often. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say I don't... [ QUOTE ] ...and you referred to him as a donk. Donks pay you off with many 1pair hands that you beat here. [/ QUOTE ] I said he seemed kinda passive but I hadn't see him do anything retarded postflop yet. |

[ QUOTE ] That just makes him fold nearly everything. [/ QUOTE ]Does that really matter? Being 200bb deep and against an unknown you're not winning this pot very often postflop and you're not going to be able to put him on a range of hands because he'd call any 2 that you'd reraise with because of the stacks and he has position. [/ QUOTE ] please read midstakes and get your head checked. |

Fun thread.
I think you should bet the turn. If stacks were more shallow I could see checking the turn to try to c/r AI. As played river is a fold. |

Woolygimp,
I advocated earlier in the thread betting the turn. If we bet the turn strong and he raises we can safely lay this down I assume? If he just calls and the river comes with the club do we check fold? I really feel this guy has AK clubs and decided to peel the flop. Thanks for any opinions. Oh can you also look at the hand I posted "3/6 nl ak scary flop" I would like to hear your analysis. |

since you're OOP and deep you should make a raise that doesn't give him good implied odds and negates the positional disadvantage. Reraising preflop to around $65 is probably best. [/ QUOTE ] LOLOLOLOL. Just raise to $266, fake misclick ftw. |

If we looked at this hand from Villians POV, couldnt this be the perfect river card to semi-bluff on?
