[ QUOTE ]
If you want to avoid confrontation, teach your wife how to back into a parking spot well. [/ QUOTE ] Might as well try to teach a dog to back into a parking spot. I haven't met a girl who could, and the 2 that I tried to teach, it was impossible. |

[ QUOTE ]
By-Tor: don't get your panties in a bunch because you're a little busy at work. I usually like your straight-forward talk, but you're being ridiculous in this thread. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, I gave my opinion (based on faulty information), was respectful to the OP's wife and admitted when I was incorrect. Maybe I should update my list. Also, I am not busy at all. This is a quiet morning. |

This is what I would do.
Next time you see your neighbor pull up and park like that, go over to him/her and start admiring their car, whatever make/model it is. Heap a little praise on it and then tell them about the details of how you/your wife hit the last guy who parked their car there. Make sure you explain the part about having to pay for damage to the other car and how you aren't going to do that again. Then explain to him/her that it's probably why it was made an illegal spot. Finally, politely ask him if he could park elsewhere, yet be sure to keep in mind that it is probably the most convenient spot for him/her to park. If that doesn't work call the police and explain it to them, the whole story. They shouldn't have to write a summons in order to get the point across and it wouldn't be a dick move, IMO. |

Why is this "parking illegally"? Is there a no parking sign? Or is it really illegal to park in front of your own driveway? Sounds like you mean the latter, but I find this difficult to accept.

It's generally illegal to park on the street in any way that obstructs a driveway.
The fact that it is the owner doing it doesn't necessarily change the law. |

Obviously ok to talk to them assuming it's a little bit of a squeeze out of your driveway.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Talk to man of the house, make many bad women driver jokes, both laugh, man will move car, all will be well. Ray [/ QUOTE ] took the words right out off my keyboard. [/ QUOTE ] How is this thread still going. This is exactly the way to handle it. [/ QUOTE ] Personally I kind of like the drink scotch and glare at neighbor strategy. It's important to internalize these things until they fester. Avoid all contact until you are ready to explode. Then take it out on the wife and kid instead. Wife leaves you. Problem solved. |
