Homer,
You do understand how that would be "taking" something from someone? IE Shelter. Alobar, I don't think we're having a "meeting of the minds" I mean accepting no forms of any handouts. Nor being able to earn a single penny more than you 825 you start with and the clothes on your back. |

with 2500, you not only would not owe any taxes, you'd actually get several hundred dollars from the Earned income credit if you were single, over 25. web page
Also, you could get food stamps, and tons of other stuff. I'd just do that. P.s. I answere do the 2500, but in reality, I wouldn't do either. I wouldn't do the 2500 thing because a: at 39, it's not so good and b: I have a family. I wouldn't take the 200k unless I could stay at my current job, which is about half that and freakin' rocks. |

Homer, You do understand how that would be "taking" something from someone? IE Shelter. [/ QUOTE ] How is it taking? It isn't a handout. He would be offering to pay $6250 a month in rent, to be paid at the end of the lease. Basically, you're saying he can't receive any help from anyone or bargain in any way? If someone offered him a deal for $150 a month rent, that wouldn't be cool? |

If not, I don't see how you're defining "handouts" in a way that doesn't also exclude using your $825 to get some McDonalds. |

Homer,
I see what you are saying now. I'm discounting absurd "transactions" of this kind. Paying relative fair market value for things. Like used goods etc, but not getting the situation you described. |

Im saying if I get to pick the place in america, its not that hard. I could easily find a room to rent in various places that even after utilities would be well under $200/month. I can buy enough clothes at the salvation army to last a week between washes for a few bucks So the only other thing I need is food. And I could live off dumpsters and ramman noodles for 4 months. edited to add: I wouldnt strike any "deal" with someone. Also im assuming dumpster diving is allowed (which why wouldnt it be?). If not its still no biggy, instead of paying rent someonewhere, ill just buy a cheap ass tent and sleeping bag off craigs list and camp for 4 months and spend my money on food. Either way, its still easily doable. |

But surely he could find a room for rent in the ghetto for $150 a month, no? That leaves him a couple bucks a day for ramen, etc. |
