It's easy to buy-in without seeing your balance. When you click on a seat, just hit enter on your keyboard and it will sit you down with the default 25BB's. Then, click on re-buy and hit enter again for the Tiltblocker friendly 50BB's. All this can be done without even looking at the cashier box.

This is really rocking. I played very well today, though I could be down a ton. I feel good about how I played, not the results. 1011 more hands logged.

It's a very wierd experience for me. I'm use to having an emotional confrontation at the end of a session where I said, "He'll yeah 2K dollars" or "Ah it's only 30 BB". But now, there is nothing to look forward to or be afraid of. It's very strange.

Also, one of my goals is to not let the game affect my personal life. This becomes trivially easy when you don't know how you are doing. I'm in San Diego on vacation right now and I just had a wonderful lunch with my wife. I put in 3 hours this morning and W$@SD 46%. I'm pretty sure I'm down but not knowing numbers frees me and allows me to focusing on enjoying my day.

I was just made aware of this thread. I'd be willing to give this thing a try with two other people for some dough. Not a bad idea. I don't know if it's necessarily a good idea either, but it might be and it would at least be interesting. So yeah, if someone doesn't have a partner for this thing yet, I'm down.

guy thanks for the good post. I was the one who proposed this bet idea above and just finished my first week of not looking at results (I won the bet, lol). Apparently I was going through a 200+ downswing during the last 5k or so hands at 10/20 (WTSD 35 W$SD 47, I usually have w$ of 52+). The great thing, however, is I didn't even realize I was in a downswing. I thought I was up a moderate amount or maybe around even. I'm sure I would have tilted if I knew about the dowswing.

I definitely believe this is will help people achieve the detached state that you described in your post. After you play for a while without looking at the cashier, you do lose track of how you're doing and can focus on making good decisions.

I've been doing it right now; I haven't looked at PT in weeks :-)

Of course, part of the reason for that is I've mostly been playing at Bodog..
