Konik just seems to be out of place on PAD.

I loved Phil Gordon insisting that AsQh was 77 percent against A-10(hearts). and gordon folded 73, so it wasn't like he held a 10 and recalculated the odds. Lederer looked at him like he was an alien.
And yes, konik is by far the worst player at the table. |

[/ QUOTE ] Phil definitely looked silly on this one (even i knew it wasnt 75%, and im not a big math guy)... Konik seemed promising early on (does not mean he was playing well, that was just the impression i got) - but then he got really impatient. I mean blinds were at 600/1200 weren't they? He had a limper utg and he pushed 5 handed (with the blinds left to act) with 14k chips - i mean i guess its borderline but i really dont like a push with a weak ace here. Seemed like he was panicing. I guess with the winner take all format you could argue that it was the right move. |

I've been lucky enough to either interview or play with all of these guys except for Konik, and I must say you guys are dead wrong about Phil Gordon. He's one of the nicest, friendliest guys I've ever met. He's very happy-go-lucky and loves to have fun.
Howard is nice enough and friendly in that "poker-table-friends" kind of way. Mike Sexton is amazingly gracious and always has time to talk. He's also very funny. Gabe is Gabe...what you see is what you get. Either you like his schtick or you don't. Chad Brown is very humble, very nice and works incredibly hard at improving his poker. While I don't think he's very good at hosting/commentating, that doesn't detract from his having an enormous amount of class. ****** I really loved how the whole table started ribbing Konik about folding AJs on the button... PAD is very entertaining...I'm liking this better than HSP right now. |

Did you see how pissed Gabe was about folding T9s against a raise and re-raise, when the T9 hit on the flop. I know a lot of players who would have made that call with that hand because it is exactly the type of hand that can crack large pocket pairs. It seemed to me that he was getting the right implied odds to make that call. He would have felted Sexton.

He made a good read on this hand, but still screwed it up by just calling the turn bet instead of raising. The problem being that Howard can't beat a bluff, so he can't call a river bet even if he thinks Kaplan is bluffing. If Kaplan ever fires a third barrel Howard has to give up on the hand. If he thinks Kaplan is weak he needs to raise the turn, while he still has enough chips to bluff. This has the added bonus of denying Kaplan a free card if he has a weak pair/draw. [/ QUOTE ] I don't remember the stack/pot sizes, but I'm pretty sure that a reasonable turn raise would have required Howard to commit all his chips. If I recall, Gabe's turn bet was smallish, and I know Howard's "value" river was small. So Howard achieved his objective without risking many chips. How exactly is this wrong? |

A few things I noticed in the 4th episode.
Brown has had horrible luck, everyone is holding over him. Konik is really annoying, asking for chip counts of players who put in raises BEFORE looking at his cards. Also, I don't like the way he played the turn on the hand where Gabe had him outkicked. I think if he is going to play it for all Gabe's chips he should check-raise or bet allin on the turn. Also, I don't like his push with A3 after Gabe limped, especially since no one was limping for a while. Also, I think he is divulging info about his moderately strong hands by always talking about them before he makes his decision, this probably was part of the reason he didn't play the AJs hand. Howard making fun of Gordon for not insta-calling on the Aces full hand is priceless. Sexton's big flop bet on that all diamond board seemed real sloppy to me. A smaller bet could have gotten the job done I think. He didn't have to double Howard up there. I am really rooting for Gabe to win. Howard and Gordon have shown they can really outplay him, but this thing is quickly turning into a crapshoot with the higher blinds. |

What was funnier than Kaplan saying "I have a gym in my house but my family formed a club and won't let me join."
That was hilarious. |
