Weird that the thread became a discussion about mucking/showing hands when in fact Gold played like a superdonk and got humiliated by Doyle calling his raise on the river fairly quickly with Ace high...

[/ QUOTE ]

We know Gold is a donk against nits when the stacks are large. Gold knows that Gold is a donk against nits when the stacks are large. Luckily for him, the most important factors in winning tournaments are how you play against fish and how you play when the stacks are not large. So it's just not that interesting to say that he's a bad cash game player and he's bad at bowling as well.

Clearly Gold is a huge donk. Still, watching HSP it does make me think again how his table talk probably does work wonders against the fish at Commerce & the WSOP. He's just so annoying you really want to bust him and his little needle talk to try to get you to act a certain way works.

Gold shaking his head during the hand was one of the greatest moments in poker. He is desperately trying every trick in his book...

When I was watching it last night, I was like "WOW, 2+2 is going to have a field day with JGs play".

[/ QUOTE ]

Jamie Gold could sit there all night, smile, not play a single hand, and 2+2 would still have a field day with him.

No he couldn't.

But it would've been a huge improvement.

Are we all in agreement that this has been by far the worst season of HSP so far. The players are horrible (Gold, Ramdin, Chen are retarded). The action is super passive. I hope ABA makes this game a lot more interesting. I think Sammy needs to come back as well.

Well I don't think we will have to put up with the low quality of players much longer. If you watched the episode last night, they show a preview of next week's episode and to me it looks like it's a whole different group. I think I saw Lindgren, Elezra, Farha, Brian Townsend aka sbrugy, and perhaps some others I'm leaving out, but nonetheless it should be much better.

Man, I'll put up my left nut as collateral to get money to play on that table. I'd put up both nuts for a seat to the left of Gold. That was one horrendous string of plays we've been subjected to. The only positive is that it's nice to see Gold being cut down in size.

I really don't get the hate for this guy. I understand that he comes off as a bit smug and arrogant, but so do a lot of players. He was very complimentary of Doyle, and it seemed to me like everyone enjoyed interacting with him at the table.

[/ QUOTE ]

Listen to the interview he did with Rounders. I think you can find it at bigpoker.ca

He is so over the top obsessed with his own near divinity that it's beyond comical.
