My names Craig, I'm 21 and I've been playing poker for about three years. I built my initial buy in of $20 on pocket rockets into about $100. Then bought into party and built it to about $200. I then dropped poker and cashed out. I bought back into stars for about 100 and built it to 2, then cashed last week out and back into full tilt. Basically I'm a solid SnG player with about a 20% roi on 11s. The reason I've moved hardcore back into poker is mainly because through a mutual friend i went to raptor's new years party and got two things from it. A) i saw first hand that its possible take make money playing poker. I knew it before but I actually experienced it while consumed large amounts of his alcohol. B) I became extremely jealous, and basically became determined to build a roll I can learn cash NL games with.
Anyway to get to the point. I 8 table sngs atm, have no problem multi-tasking and I'd have no problem playing more as long as I feel confident with a strategy playing nl ring games. My current roll is about $500. All i want from the experience someone who knows what the [censored] they're doing helping me learn. Looks like a good opportunity. Oh and thats also the reason for me being regged to 2+2 new years day. deuce2high told me i'm retarded for reading 2+2 and not posting. Craig |

Pasterbator, I suggest you make a new thread where you offer someone to read through this thread and choose who you will coach. [/ QUOTE ] lol seriously considering this. There are a TON of good applicants here. Regardless of whether or not you get picked for this project, i will likely begin coaching after (with options for hourly pay vs profit sharing) and you will all, of course, have an option to take part. However, i will not start that until im at least a few weeks into coaching these two guys. Once they feel they have a solid grasp on the fundamentals, i will be able to add students. I will keep everyone updated. I will hopefully make an official announcement with my choice tomorrow afternoon. |

Shameless self serving suggestion:
Posting history and STTF participation should be considered in your choice. To be honest I'd be kind of upset if one of these guys who registered 01/01/07 got the spot. |

Lollerskates. I have zero reason to get chosen, but I'd be stupid for me not to take advantage and post. Besides, I have no doubt that I'll be at that level eventually as i'm extremely determined, but a coach makes things 10x easier.
Nothing ventured nothing gained. |

I thought I recognized the SN. If you're unsure about your move, feel free to use the formula my crew developed for approriate SNG game selection. Rule of thumb says you want 100x the buy in. (this would put you at the $5 level), but you can take into account your average ROI as well. (if you don't track this yourself, just search yourself on sharkscope.com for a semi-accurate ROI) Then the equation is as follows:
L = (BR/100) times (ROI/10) If you're wondering why we divide ROI by 10, we've just determined that at minimum a winning player should be making 10%. But in a case like yours, where you want to give a higher level a shot, IF YOU ARE ACHIEVING AN ABOVE AVERAGE ROI, you can justify putting yourself in a bigger game. In your case: 10% ROI average- $5 games 20% ROI average- $10 games 30% ROI average- $15 games 40% ROI average- write a frickin poker book! LOL- hope you find this helpful...see you on the felt |

Yeah I have about a 22% roi. I'm confident enough in my game atm that I'm not really worried about losing my roll, im just trying to build it enough for the 22s. =) Sngs are just a grind.

I don't think I ever had more than 20 buy-ins to move up to the next level...only time I ever played with more than 100 buy-ins was 55+. Edit: Does this 'crew' have a website? |
